Part II: The Seats
UA "New" J seat
And the famous ala SQFG TM shoot:
About this UA "new" J seat:
Fully flat bed seat
Quite comfort for sleeping and lounging
Enough space for the feet
Big enough IFE screen
Limited IFE choices
Even they are in 2-4-2 configuration, no constrain feeling felt
Facing backward seat can cause awkward feeling at the first time, but I felt nothing once it's airborne
Overall, it's a very nice J seat

TG "not so new" J Seat
Sorry for the quality of the pictures, I was in hurry when taking these pictures and all without flash.
And the famous ala SQFG TM shoot:
My personal opinion about this TG J seat:
Angle lie flat seat.
Quite comfort, even though the padding need more layer.
The cabin felt cramped even with 2-2-2 lay out (maybe because this was A340-600?).
Duvet style blanket very comfortable
Amenities kit bag is a plus

SQ "new regional" J Seat
And no TR will be complete without this ala SQFG TM photo shoot...
Personal thought for this "new regional" J seat:
Nice and soft tone colour make this seat and cabin feel "more open space".
Seats wide are adequate.
Comfy lounging position, but not so comfy on the sleeping position, the angle can be bothering.
Nice seating lay out, 2-2-2 in this B773.
As a bulkhead seat, some facilities are gone, eq: USB socket, amenities drawer, etc...

My personal conclusion for the "J Class Seat Battle":
Seat comfy for lounging: it's a Tie for SQ, UA and TG
Seat comfy for sleeping: UA beats SQ and TG
IFE: SQ beats TG and UA
Blanket: TG beats SQ and UA
Amenities kits: TG (the only contestant)
Seat lay out: UA (even with 2-4-2 lay out, can create "open space" feeling)
Overall I put UA J class seat higher than SQ than TG.
May be this can be a little bit unfair for SQ, because this is their regional J class seat vs UA and TG long haul J seat. May be I should compare them with SQ "diamond" seat, but that will be next time story....

Part III: The Inflight Food
TG J Class Food
"Snack" SYD-BNE:
"Supper" BNE-BKK:
"Breakfast" BNE-BKK:
My personal thought for TG J food:
Nice portion
Tasty
Love this "no sleeper service ala SQ"
Mt Franklin water is a plus (compare to the "in house brand")
Presentation of the main course still has a lot of room to improve
Full bar service, even on the short SYD-BNE route is big plus.

UA J Class Food
HKG-SIN, Dinner
First time with UA J on this route, my impressions with their food are:
Not like a real J class meal.
For an almost 4 hours flight, the sequence was not that good (dessert come first along with salad).
Tasty, good portion.
Whole can of soft drink... good for thirsty traveller...
Still have a lot of room to improve.
