  • JL 9 in F.

I have not seen any TRs of JL flights in F on here. In fact, throughout the Internet, they are the rare gem indeed! I am therefore not sure if anybody is interested.

I just flew JL 9 from ORD to NRT in F. I am wondering if it is out of place, this being more *A oriented, but I do know some of you will look at Champagne before they look at the alliance... and JL serves Salon 97 on this flight!!!!

I'm definitely interested. Want to compare JL to my upcoming NH F flight in three weeks.

Ah good! I have an opinion on both! So I will definitely cover that territory!

        Definitely bring that one on...

Jap vs Jap, OW vs *A, what's not to like?

Great to see you back, by the way..!

            An introduction

Now that some of you have voiced interest, I want to start first with a few comments that do not require any pictures.

This trip is my first time flying JAL. I am flying JAL because I am no more DFP but more like AFP. (Or AaFP if that was not clear enough!)
Yes I have switched my allegiance! I am now off HellTeam and flying OneWorld besides keeping my triple *A credits...

I flew DEN-ORD last night on AA with a usual AA F service. Nothing worth noting except that if you are a AA EXP, any flight out or into DEN is never full in F and thus you are pretty much guaranteed an upgrade! If you have no status on AA and you want a last minute F ticket out of DEN, take AA as they will have free space while UA, CO or DL will not! (I already knew that from personal experience when on a paid J ticket DL wanted me to fly Y to LAX until I told them there were F seats on AA that they could give me!)

ORD was the start of my JL experience. I had done my research and knew that the JL F lounge in ORD was sub par.
I can now confirm this first hand. For all of you who have seen lounges in Asia in such remote places as Hue or (dare I say?) Delhi! That's what you can expect! Tired outmoded lounge.
Nevertheless, the personnel is attentive. Though, my mom would go NUTS at the Japanese attendants and passengers who drag their footwear across the floor in noisy `shhhh-shhhh-shhhh...`!!!!

One thing to know about the JL F lounge is that only JL F passengers and their guests can get access to it. They will not allow other Oneworld emeralds. This has been discussed on TOF but if you cannot get access, you are not missing much. As a matter of fact, I think the whole ORD terminal 5 (int'l terminal) is a sorry place!

I know you've already started on the report, but yes, I'd be interested too - diversity is what will make this place special

DFP, I saw you inquiring about the onboard Champagne over on TOF and was hoping you would grace us with a TR over here. Great to see you back!

Agree with you that JL TRs are hard to find...there are a few on TOF, but they're buried.

Should I made a confession? I am Catholic after all...
The Champagne IS the reason for this TR! LOL

Someone in Nottingham accuses the Asian students in his aera of doing that as well, much to his annoyance.

                      Welcome back, AAFP.

I was *just* about to comment on my agreement with DFP's mum on the foot dragging issue when I saw that you had already read my mind jjpb3

Great to see you back DFP - hope all is well with you and looking forward to reading more of your TR as it's published

I am the Nagoya Westin and though they provide free Internet for platinum SPG, it is very slow and I have not been able to upload more than 2 pictures so far!
Well here they are and I will put more as I am able to upload.
A picture of the ORD JL F lounge:

I got seat 1K and my view of the IFE was like this:

Other than the internet, how is the Westin? For convenience sake, I have always opted for the Marriott, since the trains are right below...and there's a very cool Yama-chan close by.

I have no idea why my pictures are not showing. I thought I did it the same way as I have always done it. I guess I will have to try to correct it.

As for the Westin, it is quite nice. Got upgraded to a suite. Very nicely arranged rooms. Today I moved to the Marriott. It is indeed more conveniently located, but I had a great view of the castle from my Westin room.
