      Hi all,

9V-SIA, was this flight full? I want to know it because someone tolds that the load in this flight BCN-SIN/SIN-BCN is low, and because of it, SQ may quit this flight. So, can you tell me the load in this flight in Economy and in Business class.

      Thank you for all,

By the way, I liked so much your report

      Fun of Mumbai

MXP-BCN-MXP was not full but loads SIN-MXP-SIN quite respectable.
        In fact 100% full MXP-SIN.

If this European tag works, can we hope for FRA-VIE, FRA-MUC or FRA-BER?

They were actually killer rabbits phaleesy so I didn't feel so bad

              Killer Rabbits

Very crispy on the outside, juicy and meaty inside. Not gamey at all.

Clarification needed to previous post #48.

No satay because caterers don't do satay on a Sunday flight.

              My bad..

2 other things I'd recommend you do in BCN

                1. Iberian Ham Tasting

                We were strolling through Gracia,
a village long since swallowed up by BCN's growth
but managing to retain its unique character,
when we came across this charcuterie where....

..we noticed a wide difference in prices of the different jamon.

So we bought a baguette and samples of 3 types...

.. took it back to the hotel for a "blind tasting".
The butcher scribbled the different types on the wrapping.

Just came across this today in the NYT

                Iberian Ham

                2. Lunch at Can Ravell

                This nondescript exterior hides ...

                ..a great deli and..

.. at the back, in the kitchen..

.. a spiral staircase that leads to...

                .. a communal dining room where we had a 3 hour meal ( 6 starters, 6 mains, 4 desserts for 30 Euro )
with some businessmen from San Sebastian.

Managed to get a list of places to eat in San Sebastian from them too.

                      Dessert

1/4 Catalan creme brulee with fruit

2/4 Fruit with biscuit ice cream

3/4 Creamy black chocolate. I like the salt sprinkles.

9V-SIA, your food pics are making me so hungry!

That's a lot of food for two people! Was Mrs 9V-SIA eating two full meals a day too? I remember you mentioning that she skips some meals so that she could eat more later in the day?

San Sebastian has a lot of good tapas too. You should really visit one day. I think you would love it. I compiled a list of places to eat ages ago. So we basically went to each place, ordered their specials, gobbled the food, then hopped on to the next, and the next, and the next. We usually just stand at the counter with a drink, then move on.

There was a rather unfortunate year when we were part of a group who went to SS together. Some individuals in the group were rather too 'posh' and demanded tables to sit down, proper cutlery and napkins etc. So I wandered off after a while and left them to their own devices.

I do not think they understood the concept of bar hopping. If I wanted a proper sit down meal in a fancy restaurant with napkins, I would go to a 3 star Michelin in SS.

We try to balance calorie intake as best we can.

Some days calorie neutral ( we like to think! )

For example, after the Can Ravell feast, we had the Iberian Ham tasting for dinner.

Other days, not so calorie neutral.

Breakfast at Pinotxa Bar at Bouqueria

was followed by brunch of churros & hot chocolate

and tapas lunch at Cal Pep and dinner at Commerc24.

I know who to PM for San Sebastian eats!

BTW still look at your Hyotei & Koyasan pics...

                          Hyotei

                          Koyasan

Ever go to Kikunoi & Il Ghiottone?

Hyotei and Kikunoi have Michelin stars now. Rats!

I'd need your help with BCN's eats!

Are there a lot more places you've been to but have not talked about in your TR?

Never been to Kikunoi and Il Ghiottone. We did not think Hyotei was that great. Nice to look at but tasteless. The vegetarian place in Tokyo (Daigo I think) is a lot better!

I was trying to keep the TR brief because I appreciate that the attention span of Modern Man is rather short.

But yes, omitted quite a bit.

I'll get round to posting my pics of the Catedral with its charming cloisters populated by 13 cute geese!

Had breakfast at Hyotei. Pricey but I remember the spectacularly tasty egg yolks.

Wash your mouth out with soap. Don't mention that V word to me!

I can see why your sympathies might lie with the wabbit and not me.

Bugs Bunny the other day and Mickey Mouse today. You are evil, 9V-SIA!
                              No. Just greedy
