I'd prefer to have a date with a swimmer or rower. They have powerful arms too.

I'm sure they can make you "fly", but.... Can they hold 4 PW engines like her???

            An Unexpected Encounter......

            SQ11
            NRT-SIN
            Class: F
            Seat: 2A
            Load: 12/12 (what economic downturn???)
            ETD: 1910
            ETA: 0115 + 1
ATD: boarding was ontime, push back 50 minutes late
            ATA: 30 minutes late
            Aircraft: B747-400

I was time to leave this comfort lounge.
It's still 15 minutes before boarding time, but I want to stroll around doing some last minute shopping.
And I ended with some nice melon cake

SQ always left from satellite 4, so it just a short walk from the lounge to the departure gate.

            View around the gate:

Soon boarding was announced in usual order.

The lady who was handling my boarding process was the same lady from the check-in counter. And she still remembered me, and said good bye for me with a very nice smile...

I was among the first on the bridge, and the first one that reached the door.
            Ahhh.... the familiar environment...
The purple tie guy (himself) welcome me at the door
I showed hem my BP, and he said "welcome back Mr. D...."
And he escorted me to my seat, my favorite seat, 2A.

Ahhh... it's so nice to be at this seat in this nice cabin in the lovely aircraft from the great airlines..
Sadly it all will be gone soon...

After I settled down at my seat, one of the green kebaya girls, approached me and introduced herself as Sarah.
And she asked for what drink I'd like to have.
I asked her for my favorite, Choya Umeshu.

I always has a mixed feeling when encountered with SQ's girls asking for my order.
Their position that caused that all. That semi squad (not kneeling) position always made me awkward.
Feeling of the enjoyment seeing a beautiful God's creatures mixed with feeling of little embarrassment facing "face to breast" on the "low chest" of their Balmain's designed kebaya.
            The "pleasure with guilty" feeling....

The pajamas were distributed, but not the amenity kit.

And also the menu was distributed while we still on the ground.

This time would be a chocking full cabin in F, with 2 children on board.

Not for long, my drink arrived.
The beautiful golden liquor came with two umeshu fruits drowned within it.
(I just wondering, is that a fixed rule to have 2 umeshu with this drink???)

An this shoot is dedicated to the famous, irreplaceable, the one and only.... SQFG

The doors had been closed. All the pax had been settled to their seat.
And it already passed the scheduled departure time.
But we haven't pushed back yet.

An then captain came to speak over the PA, telling us that tower haven't released us because of some typhoon around the Japan sea. And we're expecting about 1 hour delayed.

I didn't bother that. I was in my comfort seat with nice drink and nice crew in my lovely aircraft, and my connecting flight still on 8am tomorrow morning. You can delayed me as long as you wanted, but just don't canceled this flight.....

Hey... I was on the IFE, had my own show there...

I heard some pax back there having some snack, but I just asked Sarah for another round of Chosa Umeshu (of course it came with 2 umeshu fruits again... )

I've depleted my second round of Choya Umeshu, but my lady still not moving.

And then I asked Sarah again for sparkling water... (no explanation about the brand of the sparkling water like I had on TG).

This time the purple tie guy who brought me the water and some nuts (yes, it warmed nuts. But no, I didn't know his name, he didn't introduce himself to me, and the name tag to small to be read )

And then Sarah came again, asking for my after take off drink.
              I asked her for Krug.

              The lady still not moving.
I heard another "pop" sound, signing an opening of champagne bottle.

Some pax back there really know how to have a party on a delayed flight..

And then suddenly the captain voice heard back over the PA, telling us that tower has released us, and now we were on the queue to depart.

I felt this elegant lady moved. Soon we were on the way to the runway.

While we taxied, Sarah approached me, and with her semi squad position and apologize mimic face, the told me: "we're very sorry Sir, we've ran out of Krug. Would you like some Dom instead for after take off drink?"
              What????
We're still on the ground, but we have already ran out of Krug???
              How come??? Oh dear....
Not wanna be a PITA, and "hypnotized" by this SQ girl pose , I agreed her choice, and told her not to worry about that...

But the unexpected moments didn't stopped here.....

Soon we were airborne. About one hour late than the schedule time.
As the seat belt sign off, one of the green tie guy came with an empty flute glass and a bottle of Dom. He poured the Dom into the flute glass in front of me, and put it on the side table for me. He once again apologized for the Krug incident.

And then Sarah came again for taking my dinner's order.

This time I wanted to try my luck here. I asked her politely: " is there possible if I have both of the appetizer? My first choice is the caviar, but if you have any scallops left, can I also have them?".
She smiled, and told me she would see what she can do for me.

And before she left, I once again asked her for a favor.
I asked her about the pajamas, I'd like to exchange them to S size, because I wanted to give them as a gift.
And I also asked her for a teddy bear and playing card.

She took my L size pajamas with her, smiled to me and said that she would check about them.

And then she came back to me with a M size pajamas. She apologized, there was nothing left for S size pajamas because all S size already given to the 2 lucky kids in this cabin.

I told her that in that case I prefer the L size one.

So she went back to the galley, and not for long she came back again with my original pajamas with a teddy bear and box of playing card.
I thanks her. (I think I was a PITA for her...)

Until this stage, still no sign of amenities kit.

Soon after that, Sarah came again to prepare the table for me.

                  The festive will began soon....

First delight, the most SQTalkers seeking for, talking about, debated, game minding, compare them with others, the famous SQ satay....

Hmmm... something new with this satay....
At the beginning I didn't realized about this. I thought it was a regular standard for serving the satay...
I just realized it was different after read SQFG TR here.
Mine was not as elegant as hers with the table linen, but mine has got something "very special" that she got none

And that something "special" was a "shocking one"....

                  Look at this :

That was my third encounter with something weird with SQ F culinary experiences.

The satay itself was really a delightful appetizer.

The meats smell very nice, taste so good.
                  Full of spice yet tender.
The peanut sauce so creamy and full of flavor.
Tickled my taste buds, danced in my mouth, made a perfect harmony with the meats.

The cucumber.... hmm.... what I can said with cucumber... just crunchy things...

The onions.... hmmmm.... it just regular onions with their sweetness, trade mark odor, crunchy and their trade mark taste.

But surprisingly they were perfectly match with peanuts sauce and satay.
                  Perfect taste!!!

I didn't mind if I got another 2-3 more portions of them, but unluckily they didn't offer that to me...

After a short pause, Sarah came again with table linen and cutlery set to set up my table for dinner.

                    And the real feast begun....

Started with Caviar (with metal knife and fork... , but with platter underneath the serving plate... )

As usual, the caviar was soooooo delicious.....
I love the salty taste of this Sturgeon fish's roe.... melted in my mouth, spread to my palates, gave me a heavenly feeling....

I didn't mind if they gave me another 0.5kg tin of caviar to take home.... but unfortunately they definitely won't do that.....

And here came my second appetizer, the scallops.
Hurray .... Sarah managed to get me the extra appetizer

                    The scallops tasted sooooo good....
Succulent and tender.... so tasty and fresh....
It was an excellent marinated scallops.

Whilst enjoying my scallops, captain came again over the PA to announce that we were gonna hit a quite heavy turbulence, so he told the crew to suspend the service.

So after finished with the scallops, there was a pause on my feast.

We really hit a severe turbulence. This lady shake wildly. I must hold my glass to prevent it spilled out the water inside.

After about 20 minutes accompanied this lady rode a "boom boom car", she became steady again.

                      And the feast was continued...

This time, the cream corn soup.

Honestly, this cream corn soup was the weak point of this feast.
It was tasted good, but nothing special, just like regular cream corn soup from regular restaurants, or even tasted like the canned cream corn soup.

                      Next was the salad...

I liked the salad presentation. It really did its job, to bring up my appetite, to prepare me for the main course.

All the veggies taste good, fresh and crunchy.

And now the main event.... the steak....

The beef was excellent. Medium done, succulent and very juicy!
                      Perfect beef steak!

Sarah told me that this steak was loaded in NRT, using Japanese beef. (Wagyu beef??? neeehhh.... I don't think so... If they used Wagyu beef, it must has been written in the menu in bold letter... )

                      And then came the dessert...

The dessert also taste good, perfect to complete the steak.
Especially the ice cream. I always love vanilla ice cream...

After this round, I felt quite full.

So I only asked for the soft blue cheese (dunno what its name....) and the recently much talked about, discussed here, the famous TWG Singapore Breakfast tea.

The TWG Singapore Breakfast tea smelt and tasted nice. Quite light, not heavy like English breakfast.
Left a fresh taste with some hint of exotic spice.

The cheese was good, but because it was soft cheese, the taste not as strong as the real blue cheese, my favorite one. But still nice.

The grape was awesome. Dunno what kind of this black grapes. Seedless, crispy and vey sweet..... The best grapes I ever had...

Finished with them all, Sarah brought me some pralines as a finale of the feast...

Dunno what brand this pralines were, but there was some "bonbon" words on top of one of the pralines.
Its tasted quite good, but not as good as Godiva's pralines, my favorite one.
(maybe I was a little bit bias about this pralines' taste, because I was already very full to judge fairly... )

That was a very satisfied feast....

                      Next episode: the final chapter......

After the delightful feast, time to clean my mouth aka brush my teeth...

Went to toilet, and I found the last toothbrush there. Strange, usually SQ put quite a stock of toothbrushes in the lavatory.
But it didn't bother me, 'cause I still got my toothbrush...

Went back to my seat, there was a blanket on top my seat. Nice...
In this short flight, there was no turn down service unless you asked them to make the bed for you.
                            So I went without it....

When Sarah came again to bring me the Evian bottled water, I asked her about the amenities kit: "I'm just wondering... Now we don't get amenities kit anymore in this flight??"
Sarah replied me: "we do have the amenities kit in this flight, Sir. Do you want me to get you one, Sir?"
Of course I want them, what else.....
So I said:" yes I do, thank you Sarah...."

And then she went to the galley, and brought back an amenities kit with her.
It was "the soft pouch" version (the same one with the one I've got in March ), the version before the latest "army green" version that I've got in August.

And she handed the amenities kit to me.
                            "here you are, Sir..."
                            "thank you very much Sarah....."

It came without the plastic cover like usual.
And look like I was the only one in the cabin that got the Amenities kit...

And these were the "things" that I've got from this flight....

Now my other teddy bears have a new "tanned" brother...

Felt very tired... I dozed in minutes.
I woke up only when the captain came to PA announcing that we were approaching Changi, and will landed in 30 minutes time.

So I went to lavatory again, to washed my face and brushed my teeth.
Luckily I brought my previous toothbrush, because there were nothing left in this lavatory.
Strange.... It's never happened before. They ran out of the toothbrushes in the lavatory.
On TG or LH I could understand... but this was SQ we were talking about...

                            We landed around 2AM.

The purple tie guy (until then I still didn't know his name) say good bye and thanks us for flying with SQ at he door before we disembarked.
I saw Sarah near the door, and I thanked her for the nice flight she had created for me...

                            Welcome to Singapore....

Lady SPO arrived at T2 that night. So no need to change terminal for my connecting flight to SUB with MI at 8AM.

I went straight to Ambassador Transit Hotel at T2.
But no luck. No vacant room that night.
I asked the receptionist to check the availability at other terminal, and they said all hotels were full. No vacant room at all.

Because I was on whY, no lounge facility for me.

So I went to Plaza Premium Lounge, which was located in front of Ambassador Transit Hotel.

This lounge is a payable lounge.
But you can get access with some credit card companies.
RBS and UOB were some of them.

So I used my RBS card to access this lounge.

With SGD30 or your credit card's perk, you can accessed the basic facilities for 5 hours.
They gave me a sticker stated my entry time.

The lounge itself was not that big, but felt quite spacious with basic facilities...

                              The receptionist:

                              The gym facility:

                              The lounge area:

                              The buffet area:

                              This lounge was my savior.
I waited here all night with my new Dan Brown's book that I bought at BCN.

I took a shower before I left for my flight to SUB.

I left Plaza Premium Lounge around 6:30AM.
I was planning to buy some perfumes from the duty free shops there.
But almost all duty free shop that sold cosmetic still closed at that time.
I waited on the couch, reading my book again.
Not for long, the shop opened.
I bought some perfumes, and went to the gate.

Waited there almost 30 minutes before boarding was announced.

Being whY pax, no priority boarding for me.
So I joined the queue for boarding.

This flight really choked full in all classes.

After put my luggage in the overhead compartment, I sat on my window seat. No spare seat in my row.

Being stuck in the window seat, so no picture from this flight. I forgot to take my camera out from my bag in the overhead compartment.

The breakfast was choices of "Fried mee-hoon" and "omelet" .
                              I opted the first one.
                              It was tasted so so...
But the FA were very courtesy.
Not lost their charm in this full flight.
They must be in the good mood that morning.

We arrived on time at SUB

After 11 days, 21.351 miles, 9 cities and one broken bag... I was home.

Felt nice to be home again.

Phew.... Finally .... I've finished my long trip chronicle.
Hope you all enjoy this long TR, and not fall asleep reading this long story.
                              Thanks guys for the supports...
