I always looked for Pig picture on top of the shop's name.

I'm happy to be corrected but the shop's name is Shinshu-ya. Hope it helps!

        Thanks N_Architect...
I was traveling alone and then I had all the time just for me....
so I snapped here, snapped there to satisfy my ego...
that's how I enjoyed my trip (beside the (long) flights of course..)...

Another day means another morning means another breakfast...
Dunno why I was so crazy with Japanese style breakfast.
Maybe because of their simpleness, or maybe because I just hungry??

Today schedule: Depachika(s) (Department Store Food Halls)...

But it was still early morning. So I decided to visit Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building to take some sightseeing.

This building consisted of 2 tower, south and north tower.
I took the south tower (or maybe north???).
No admission for visitor to the viewing floor.

          Here some views of Tokyo:

The north (or is it south???) tower on the left....

          Roof top garden???

View inside the viewing floor. They have souvenir stands here.

          i-Dog???

Tokyo was a candidate city for 2016 Olympic Games, sadly they lost to Rio....

            Depachika(s) time.....

As a food lover, I really love to stroll around dapachika.
Food were so well presented there.
            So pretty.
            So huge in variations.
            Food were every where!!!!...

Almost all big department stores in Tokyo had depachika (food halls), usually at their basements.

Isetan, Mitsukoshi, Matzusakaya, Takashimaya, etc... all had depachika...

            From rice to bread...
            From bento to French cuisine...
            From sushi to steak tartar...
            From soba to spaghetti...
From dried food to fresh fish...
From Japanese cake to French pastry...
            From mochi to tiramizu...
From konyaku jelly to custard pudding...
            From sake to vintage wines...
            From juices to cocktails...
            From ice cream to milkshake...
            From etc to etc....

            They had them all....

I ended up here with two bags full of bento, cakes, snacks, pudding, and other things that I couldn't remember.....

That was my last night at Tokyo.
I decided to spent it at Roppongi, the new vibrant area in Tokyo.

              Sushiiiiiii.......:

I spent 1 hour there to satisfy my taste bud and tummy....

Tokyo night view from Roppongi Hill....

There was an exhibition on the Viewing gallery at Mori Tower, The Sky Aquarium....

There was also an Art Gallery there.....

There was an exhibition of artist Ai Weiwei's art work.

And here some shoots of his works....

              Look at those Pearls..... WOW!!!!!

              Another from his art works.....

Next: time to go home with SQ11, with some surprise in the flight....
              Please stay tuned.....

Roppongi is cool, but I'd hardly call it the "new" vibrant area in Tokyo. That is an ever changing term.

Very nice trip report. I like how you took pictures of the restaurants (so now I know what it looks like from the outside) and the food you ate. I think I want to go to Japan ASAP (I planned to go to Japan (as in schedule was already set) in May but went to Europe instead )
                            Keep up the good work!

Roppongi Hills has been around since 2003.

Surprised you didn't find your way to Akihabara - it's the electronics central of Tokyo. Lots of gadgets there (and maid cafes haha).
