Thanks, but why. With all of the space between decks why not just put it there. I do not understand the need for the step up they use.

Probably easier to change out with the "false" flooring and if there happens to be a leak, there will be less of a chance (hopefully) of it entering the deck below (where more often than not, there will be other cabins). On commercial vessels, the drainage pipes normally just run in the space between decks or at the ceiling of the decks below.
