  • Holiday at Pangkor Laut Resort (PLR)

    Had a short weekend vacation with my wife & daughter at the above resort. For those who don't know, this rsort is located in the island of Pangkor Laut just off the main Pangkor island....quite a nice resort to say as the whole island is owned by the resort owner which is the YTL Group....well i let the pix do the talking....


    You will need to reach ths town of Lumut to board a boat over to the island. The anchor is the town's new landmark

    I had the hill villa...this is the pix of the wash basin...note there is another basin located directly opp each other....

      Banone Triffle....dont know what it means but tasted nice with bananas n grated coconut


      Emerald Bay...located on the other side of the island....very crystal clear waters....


      Chapman Bar located in Emerald Bay where u can have drinks, snacks n lunch...its named after Col Spencer Chapman from the Force136 during WW2 as story says this bay was where he escaped the Jap invaders

        sunset at emerald bay where it is suppose to be well known for its beautiful suunset...well looks like the sun wasn't on my side when i was there...nevertheless its still a nice view

                    After a full lunch had a short walk on the hill villas whereby I found the ruote to the Pavarotti suite....yes, this guy stayed here before couple times so they name a suite after him....

                      For my 2nd day dinner, I had it at a chinese restaurant called Uncle Lim..
                      Here's the pix of the restaurant followed by the food we had

                      Fish Maw Soup


                      Foo Yong Egg with lettuce wraps...


                      Chicken with red wine...does not look appealing but taste nice


                      Curry fish fillet


                      Stir Fry Tamarind prawns


                      Deep fried banana fritter with vanila ice-cream.....nicely done...

                        After the dinner with my stomach almost bursting...had to take another stroll to cool down.

                          The food pictures are making me hungry... have to remind myself not to open up trip reports during lunch, ............ I am skipping lunch until I reach my optimum weight!!!

                              Yes, the pool is quite a sight to behold.....YTL resorts are all exclusive n for this one in Pangkor Laut island...the whole island is owned by YTL group and there is just one resort there..imagine the exculsivity.....I also saw some local celebraties with their special ones spending some quality time when I was there...... The other YTL resorts I would like to try out is the ones in Tanjung Jara, off Kuala Trengganu & Cameron Highlands.
