I'm pleased to announce that the TR is now completed ahead of schedule. Ta (edit: that's Aussie for 'thank you') for all the comments, everyone... I hope you enjoyed it.

I might do a retrospective TR next from a trip earlier this year in March to Korea/Japan. But that one's a really long one, so rather daunting. I have to pluck up the courage...

Great TR Kyo! The satay looked so shiok! Always wanted to compare Kajang satay to the ones here in SIN (my fav is the mutton at Balestier food centre). Better yet, I wonder how they compare to the ones in the satay "motherland," Indonesia.
Such a way about you, My Singapore Girl. Wouldn't go away without you, My Singapore Girl.

sqforever: I have not tried Balestier mutton satay as yet. I am willing to sacrifice for the sake of SQTalk, however.

In Singapore, I enjoy the satay at Best Satay (Stall 6/7) at Lau Pa Sat. The East Coast Park Hawker Centre (a long-time stop for official SIN Meets) also has yummy satay. I took The Flo to try the satay at Glutton's Bay also, next to the Esplanade which was passable also. I can genuinely say - none even came close to the 4.5/5-rated sticks I had in Kajang. But I'm always keen to compare at a moment's notice! We may soon need to appoint a (edit: grammar) SQTalk Satay Panel and make sure at least one of us is in attendance at every outing.

You may have to implore one of the local Indonesian luminaries here to do a Kajang satay run to compare! I know at least one that can fly Budget

I have actually never been to Indonesia but having met some truly sincere and warm people whom I've had the privilege of making an acquaintance with, it's a strong case for me to visit CGK (the airport, not the SQTalker) one day, possibly next year sometime.

I'd also like to give DPS a try one day.

And the 'motherland' of Satay is Malaysia dammit!!

actually flying by jetstar is better - as it uses T1 and lands at main KLIA and the ticket price is the almost the same and departure times are within 10 mins of each other - and jetstar u chose book yr seat online when u r booking and free 20kg baggage if u have.
And if from the LCC airport at Klia - u can take the "red bus" which charges only rm9 to KL sentral and it runs very regularly between 10 to 15 mins as the taxis there are too expensive and rightly costs the same or more as the flight itself.
Hmmm....should try the famed KL fried hokkien (black) noodles.

nickbot: Thanks mate... I would bring some satay over to Vienna for you if I could but I think it'd get soggy and start to smell funny after the 5th day. I'd be worried if you were salivating over me, and I'm sure mrs nickbot would also

inix: Plenty of satay in Singapore to satisfy your cravings! May not be as good as the ones at Kajang though..

zander: Buddy! Sorry to wet your appetite, hope to whet it again when you're in Singapore next time, maybe with a few more Slings... We've still got like 999,992 to go...

flyguy: Jetstar was definitely not charging SGD$55 including taxes + service charge both ways. Which is how much this flight cost me. At this price, not being able to pick my own seat (only request at the counter for aisle or window) was fine. And I try not to check baggage in, if I can avoid it. Always stick with carry-ons only.

And transiting 3-4 times from a bus, to another bus or a taxi to reach my hotel was not an option because after landing, I was rushing to meet people to eat Satay at 8PM exactly... I heard about the Hokkien noodles before, and assuming there's no pork in it, will consider another trip to try it.

Hate to say this my friend but Hokkien noodles without pork or more specifically without lard is not hokkien mee

That is true. It belongs as much in Hokkien mee as the golden goose belongs on the tail of an SQ plane.
