It's my sworn duty as a Penang 'kia' (a long time ago, but still born in Penang) to duly protest that! Only in Penang can you get Penang Assam Laksa, nowhere else does it right!

Penang assam laksa is definitely worth flying for, so I will try to bribe The Flo to come with me to Penang next time, muahaha

Showing my ignorance here... I'll ask The Flo when I see him soon.

Similar to the Greek moutza which just comes so naturally to us here in the UK but which no doubt had drivers revving up their engines at road crossings in Greece before I found out.

Loving the TR Flo! And the laksa pics are driving me insane. Good ole' 328 Katong Laksa, extra dollop of chilli, and lime juice. Nostalgia.....

Your comments on SQ's new J class I completely agree with. When I first saw them I was in awe, pics simply can't convey how tempting these new seats are.

    Happy traveling!

Have you brought a tripod along? We'd try some night photography in NYC.
Actually, it was blast-off's tripod but I might buy one

Indeed, certainly heaps better than the ones I've taken up at Eureka.

Melbourne is a great city and there are loads of things to discover. One thing that's a true blast is the view of Melbourne at night. So if you've got a dSLR and preferably a tripod, take those things along! Please excuse my non-existent photography skills, I am still learning

you might use the hotspots of the fon community (http://www.fon.com).
I did it when I was in AKL and it is only 1 euro per day

All hotels in NZ have extortionate internet charges. However there are plenty of cheap internet cafes nearby ($2 per hour). Closest to Mercure are on Customs Street and one block back on Fort Street.

The mighty beast, the A380 that is, just looks fearsome from the outside. In reality, it's a humble beast: calm, quiet and absolutely adorable. The pilot, Captain Ting (or so), slenderly cruised the beast back and forth along the whole airport - I guess the tower changed his mind about which runway we were going to depart and in the end it was the one next to the Budget Terminal we used.
I believe this is the same Captain Ting who did the very first inaugural flight to SYD. I had him piloting my flight once before on SKB.
