  • A low console ran the length of the side of the Suite, by the windows...

Detachable iPad-like IFE controller, along with high-end B&O noise-cancelling headphones.

Seat lighting and window controls, as well as call button, ran along the side of the console...

USB, A/C Power, and HDMI connector...

Many padded compartments to hold small items...

Leather literature compartment....also note the black bedroom slippers...

    • The rear wall of the Suite could be lowered to form a double suite with 2F. Of course the partition remained up for the duration of the flight, as another pax was in 2F that day.

The rear of the Suite was also where the fold-down bed would go, when it was time to rest.

Small TV in the front of the Suite, mainly to watch the Safety Video. Note as well the bassinet points below the screen.

Mrs yflyer watched a short video describing the features of the Suite...

      ...and the seat...

She learned that the seat could be swivelled to watch the IFE on the large wall mounted LCD panel...

She really liked that the large, bright, widescreen could be tilted to the perfect viewing angle when seated.

      • Krug for a pre-departure beverage? Why not!

        • The staircase to the upper deck was roped off after take-off...

Mrs yflyer took the opportunity to familiarize herself with the window blinds...

...which had a partially opaque blind, which let in some light...

...as well as a 2nd blackout blind, which shut out light completely...

          • The menu for the day...

The first page of the menu introduced SQ's international culinary panel...

Skipping ahead to the FRA-SIN section of the menu...

Meal service would begin with lunch...

            Delectables / Snacks between meals...

            Breakfast prior to arrival...

A pretty impressive selection of wines on this flight...

...as well as a decent list of cocktails...

            Spirits and soft beverages...

            Coffee & tea...

            Asian tea selections...

            • The tray table was stowed in the side console...

It opened out into a large, stable tabletop...

              Chicken satay...

...which J, the cabin crew member and inflight sommelier, paired with Riesling from Winehaus Ress...

              • The table was then set with a crisp white tablecloth...

                ...for caviar...

                ...paired with Dom Perignon 2008...

Cabin service took place with the Suite doors shut...

There was no need to dine eye to eye with the neighbour in Suite 1A...

What a gorgeous spread this was...

                A whole tin of caviar...

                ...along with a mother-of-pearl spoon...

                Yum!!!

One more, with all the garnish...

Needless to say, the caviar tin was empty by the time she was done (Including one serving brought back to the lucky pax in seat 11K!).

                • To go with Mrs yflyer's main course, J picked out the Giant Steps Sexton Vineyard Chardonnay...

This was a single vineyard Chardonnay from the Yarra Valley.

Her main was a BTC selection: Braised pork cheeks with caraway jus...

She thought this was good, with tender pork and decent flavour...

Manuka yogurt ice cream with baked banana for dessert...

                  Fruit was next...

                  ...along with cheese...

...which she accompanied with Graham's 20-year Port...

Mrs yflyer was a fan of sweet wines, such as Sauternes, so she was just a little disappointed that none were available onboard.

For a sweet finish, she opted for a SilverKris Sling cocktail...

                  • Cabin lights were now dimmed, and it was time to rest and relax...

Each Suites pax was given PJ's and an amenity kit.

                    Contents of the amenity kit...

                    Very comfy Lalique-branded unisex pyjamas...

                    • Mrs yflyer headed off to the bathrooms to change into the PJs provided. But before that, it was time to setup the bed...

The leading stewardess came by the Suite to prepare Mrs yflyer's bed...

                      The bed was folded down...

                      ...topped with crisp white sheet...

                      ...pillow and duvet...

The bed could go fully flat, but Mrs yflyer requested the bed to be angled, so that she could watch television...

                      Wow, how comfortable was that...

                      • For Mrs yflyer, the Suites bathrooms were an amazing part of the experience...

"I LOVE the toilets - THAT’S a first class airline toilet" she gushed...

"Can you imagine … when you’re about to land, you would have time to change and tidy up your hair and freshen up your makeup comfortably..."

The Suites bathrooms were indeed ultra spacious and comfortable...

I think the makeup table, complete with stool and mirror, were items she appreciated a little more than I did...

                        Large sink...

...with pretty impressive water flow for an aircraft washroom...

                        Lalique Neroli toiletries...

                        Drawer of amenities...

The pics above were of the right-side bathroom.

The left side bathroom had a different design...

...with a long bench running along one side...

                        Padded toilet seat cover...

Unlike Emirates, there were no showers onboard SQ's A380's, but these were really impressive bathrooms nonetheless.

                        • Back in her Suite, she lay down to watch TV and rest...

After the flight, she mentioned that while the Suite was super comfortable, she thought the cabin felt a little warm.

"You could have told the cabin crew. If you had asked them to lower the temperature, I am sure they would have tried!", I told her afterwards, with a sigh.

                          • Finally, as we approached Singapore, it was time for breakfast...

More Champagne...this time the Taittinger Blanc de Blancs...

                            This was delicious Champagne!

For breakfast, Mrs yflyer had once again ordered a BTC option: Khao tom moo, or Thai style rice porridge...

She thought this was ok, but found the rice was a little stuck together in clumps.

Overall, she thought the food in Suites was good, but "not gushable" (To be fair, Mrs yflyer is extremely fussy about meals, as you may have deduced from the meal segments earlier in this TR...).

                            • Looking back, she found the Suites experience quite unforgettable. Like me, the experience was so far removed from day-to-day flights that it was hard to compare.

Needless to say, she had a wonderful time in Suites.

                              Highlights for her:

                              - The cabin crew - She found the cabin crew to be really warm and welcoming. They were really engaging and were very sincere in wanting her to have a great experience.

                              - The bathrooms - "That's what bathrooms should be!"

                              - The suite - Definitely very comfortable, with a lot of space

                              - The Champagne - She tried all 3 onboard, the Krug, the Dom, the Taittinger Blanc de Blanc, and drank Champagne "...with wild abandon..."

                              - Special mention to J the sommelier. Mrs yflyer left all her wine choices to J on this flight, and he did a marvellous job!

                              • My flight in Business Class also ended with a glass of Taittinger Blanc de Blancs from Suites, brought to my seat by inflight sommelier J, just before top of descent.

"Thank you so much!" I gushed.

What a nice way to end the flight...

                                We descended through the clouds...

Over the Eastern Anchorage, off Singapore's East Coast...

                                Landing on Runway 02L...

Still a few parked aircraft on the ground, including 777's with engines removed...

                                On the ground at Changi...

It was good to be home!
