Air India 787 to Chennai - AI347

Hi guys, welcome to my updated trip report. The previous had many issue like extra large photos, some photos too small, wrong orientation etc. They have all been sorted out here.

My trip started on 22 September 2018, Flight scheduled to depart at 9am from Singapore to Chennai.

Reached changi way ahead of time and checked in at Row 6 at Terminal 2. Immigration cleared and went up to level 2 to grab breakfast. After having a light breakfast, proceeded to my gate F34.

My ride for today,



On the way to board the aircraft,



Look at those huge engines,



Loads of legroom at the EMEX row,



A peek into business class,

Doors armed on time and taxi started immediately,



SQ 773ER,



Scoot A320,



FedEX Cargo Plane,



A long line behind us for takeoff,

On this flight, Breakfast was served,

A choice of Non Veg or Veg,



Unwrapped,



Egg Omelette with potatoes and Chicken Nuggets, Served with fresh cut fruits, crossaint, cup of water and coffee/Tea.

The Chennai Coast,



The famous 'Kathipara' Flyover,



Disembarking,



Overall, A very pleasant flight on Air India with On time Departure and Arrival. A true No frills service, worthy of the very affordable prices on this sector compared to SQ.

After a good one week, Departed from chennai on 01 October.

Check In and Immigration completed and proceeded to wait for the incoming flight. The incoming flight was delayed by 45 minutes.

The ride for the day,



Reg: VT-ANR



Departed 20 mins late around 12 Noon and service started with a snack service,



Peanuts and a Fanta drink.

Lunch Service,



Rice with tomato curry, stir fried beans, Chicken Curry, rasmalai, tamarind rice, bread roll, water and coffee/Tea.

Rest of the Flight was uneventful and landed at 1845 LT, 50 mins late.

Passed by a Lufthansa A359 on the way to the gate,




Another pleasant flight on Air India.

Unfortunately, AI347 has been swapped from a 787 to a A320 Neo from the middle of November 2018. This would be a no go in the future for me.

SQ has the clear upper hand now in terms of comfort with its A333 compared to the A320N.
