  • Swiss Air Economy Flight Singapore to Zurich to Rome

    Swiss Air Flight (November 2013)
LX 179 - Singapore to Zurich (Airbus A340)
LX 1726 - Zurich to Rome (Airbus A32)

Overall, it was a pleasant and very efficient flight. The flight was almost full, I'd say 90%. A sprinkling of empty seats here and there.

Even though the plane took off from Singapore slightly late (takeoff was about 30 minutes behind schedule), we arrived on time.

Originally, the plane was scheduled to park at the International terminal at Zurich. However, upon landing, the announcement came on and informed that we would be parked at the European terminal instead. That saved us the hassle of a transfer.

    Some pictures.

Changi Airport Terminal 2 - Swiss Air operates daily flights from Changi T2.

Swiss Air fleet. No Boeings. It is interesting that on a full load with 3 classes, the long-range Airbus A340 is rather small in terms of capacity. Only 219 seats.

These were the movies for children. A decent selection. Kept my kids suitably entertained during their waking hours.

For the price we got, the flight was a good deal and good on the pocket!

We had a decent light meal at the Rome Airport, before the flight. This was at Gate D area, upstairs in a self-serve cafeteria.

      This was the bill.

On the aircraft, on our way to Zurich.

No aerobridge at Zurich. It was very cold!

Zurich Airport looked very posh. Rather empty when we were there. Unfortunately we didn't have time to shop as we were catching the connecting flight.

We caught the connecting flight which was on the Airbus A340. After a long flight, we were almost home.
