Aiyooo.... These youngsters really know how to romance....

Titanic's love story looks pale compare to this one...

Are you sure you don't wanna make a movie from this romance? It's can beat the Twilight Saga down easily...

      Keep on coming, mate...

I could hear my heart thumping, pulse racing and pupils dilating... My first few steps forward were met with a sense of fear overwhelming me.

A SHOCK OVERWHELMED ME. IT SENT A WAVE OF FEAR THROUGHOUT MY BODY.

My heart skipped a beat and i was left frozen...
Just what could have cause such a shock to me? ....

My phone was ringing My mind was going all over the place and my phone had to ring... Saw the caller's name and cut the call immediately. It was all adventure for me on this trip and i didn;t want anything else to bother me.

I picked up my luggage and entered the arrival hall. Holy cow... the sight that i was greeted by... reminded me of a jail going on a riot! The money changers were all hidden behind their safety glass banging away with cups, cards, hands and basically anything to warrant the weary traveller's attention.

I paid no heed to their tempting exchange rates as i knew i could get better at the malls. But.. the rates at the airport was WAY BETTER than the rate i got when i changed some money in Singapore.
I pressed on further and saw the GoldenBird/SilverBird counter... I was deliberating whether or not to take a SilverBird or just a BlueBird. I continued out of the Terminal and saw a swarm of people approaching me! I stepped back and went back into the safe confines of the terminal and approached the SilverBird counter.

They seemed pretty busy buy the service and attention given was top notch. I gave them my destination and a price was quoted and agreed upon. 410,000 IDR. I didn;t really bother to revert back to SG dollars as i felt that anything below a million rupiah would be fine. I was escorted to my awaiting car and was told that the ride would take approximately between 45min to 2 hours. Now... 2 hours is alot. thank goodness i had a nice new car. A relatively new Mercedes E200.

I got in and while they loaded my luggage into the trunk, i found two bottles of mineral water and today's papers found in the seat pocket.

The driver confirmed my destination and drove on.
Here are some pictures of the interior for your consideration on using their services next time.

The image of Jakarta which i had were just jams after jams after jams and crazy traffic everywhere...
I was looking out the windows thinking... *Bleh.. This place looks pretty darn good. Where's the jams and the traffic! PFFT*

I tried making small talk with the driver but he seemed hesitant... so i just let him concentrate on the road...
I was sitting back and relaxing and a mere 8 minutes out of the airport, i heard the driver cursing some indonesian swear words i guess... The car slowed down to a snail's pace and there i saw it... THE BEAUTY OF JAKARTA'S TRAFFIC. Hmm... I shall just read the papers then... The driver finally started talking and telling me about how much he hated the traffic... We talked all the way through the ride about the country, the government, housing, cars, his family and the purpose of my trip. I told him my purpose and boy.... THAT WAS THE FUNNIEST REACTION I GOT FROM ANYONE.

He turned around, dipped his specs, eyeballs opened and said ... Sir... You are the craziest person i have met in my life

            YEAH. I AM CRAZY.

We drove past some really nice places, down the expressway and the crazy driving skills of his were put to the test! Motorcycles and cars everywhere trying to cut into people's lane... We went by some back roads and well.. i did get a little worried...To be honest. We even went into some housing estates where i saw huge homes which were very elaborate.

After an hour or so...he said that my hotel was up ahead... The Sunlake Hotel. Wow... it looked pretty old, shoddy and dull... Totally wasn;t what i was expecting... I am guess i am just way too used to ... aye... I'm doing this for her... this was the only hotel that was situated close to her home! So i placed a booking even though i already made a booking at Shangri La.

The security check at the hotel seemed pretty tight with a boot check and under carriage check. Driver dropped me off at the lobby and i tipped him 100,000 IDR( I really got shouted at by her because i was giving out tips like i had an unlimited flow of cash) He thanked me and i made my way to the check in.

Got a room on the fifth floor, opend the door and was blown away by how big the room was. It was facing the lake and i tipped the bell boy and he left promptly.

The furniture and the room itself seemed pretty dated and worn out. the toilet though looked as if it just underwent a renovation. It had a stand alone bathtub

So here i am... In a foreign land... In my hotel room.. With no plans whatsoever... What was my next move going to be?

I decided to stop lazing around in the hotel room and get down to what i came here for! To Meet Her!

I dressed down due to the scorching hot sun and made my way to the lobby. I presented the address on a slip of paper to the bell girl and she noted it down on a taxi card. My cab came and she ensured the driver knew where i was going before sending me off.
The driver gave me a huge smile and confirmed my destination and off we went.

Once again, i was caught up in Jakarta's horrendous traffic and after a 20 minute ride through MAJOR potholes, we reached her gated compound. the security officers were asking for her unit number and i kept showing them the figure with my hand but they couldn;t get it... AYE... The driver and me slowly made our way through the compound and ... by a spate of good luck, he suddenly stopped and i glanced to my right and went... !@#$&*&^$#@!@#%^&%$#@@$%^ THAT'S IT! What separated me from her gate was the cab's door and probably a distance of 50cm !

Paid the driver and dropped him off with a huge tip and i got out. I was slowly familiarizing myself with my new environment when i heard a female call out my name! I started looking around trying to find the origin of the voice... I kept going in circles trying to find her... I thought i was hearing things... When i saw a figure standing on the balcony of her home. The bright sunlight masked my vision. It took me a few seconds to focus on the figure and ... THERE SHE WAS! looking better than i last saw her...

It was truly a sight to behold. I was finally here... in her presence. The feelings i had in me were un describable. I finally saw the girl that left me standing at the airport 6 days ago. It was a mixture of excitement, happiness and nervousness. I was unsure of how she was going to receive me. I was infront of her home... uninvited. She stood on her balcony... not moving. Just staring at me in shock. She seemed to be thinking of something... Probably trying to take it all in that THIS IS REAL. I was starting to get nervous. It was as if she didn't eevn wish to see me... I just stood outside her home and she on the balcony... We stood there in silence... Staring into one another's eyes.

I saw something. It looked like a shine. It was slowly making it's way down from her eye past her check and she brushed it off. SHE WAS DRIPPING TEARS! :O She was crying??/ DAM... That;s the one sight i hate the most. Seeing a girl cry.

I shouted out " ARE YOU GOING TO LET ME IN OR ARE YOU JUST GONNA STAND THERE AND CONTINUE ADMIRING ME?"

With that.. she disappeared into her house and took quite a long time to come to the gate... By this point... i was actually feeling the sun biting into my skin! She opened up the gate and she gave off a smile. It was ... so genuine. I returned her smile and our eyes were locked upon one another... somehow.. it was a natural instinct. We both move forward and we were locked in embrace...

Should i post it now? As it kinda starts from the moment she saw me at her house and goes backwards.

                                From her point of view

It was a very warm day. I had nothing to do today. I was so bored to tears surfing the net...I decided to take a breather and went out to the balcony to bask in the sunlight. I saw a cab approaching and it stopped right outside my gate. Could it be my brother? Or is that my neighbour? I saw a male in the back seat with a familiar hairstyle. Wait... Are my eyes playing tricks on me? I know that guy! Could it be...?

There he is slowly taking a step out of the taxi. I can;t believe my eyes. It;s him. It’s really him. Is this a blessing in disguise? One that would end my boring day? He is looking in all directions trying to familiarize himself with his new surroundings. I have no doubt that he is searching for my house. If not.. why would he be here in my neighbourhood? I am looking down at how foolish he looks. I can only hold in my laughter. I decide to end his torture and call his name out loud. He is stunned. He starting turning around in circles trying to find out the origin of my voice. He looks up and waves at me giving off his signature smile. One that I will never forget.

Out of nowhere, I have a flashback. My mind goes back to the time where I had a vacation in Singapore for five days. On the first day of my trip , my Singaporean cousin asked me to meet him at Clarke Quay, the place where young, hip and energetic Singaporeans spend their weekends.

I was sitting at an al fresco dinning place waiting for my slow moving Singaporean cousin to arrive. I was chatting with my family members while trying to grasp my surroundings. Out of nowhere, i saw a figure in the distance waving at me. It was my Singaporean cousin- Ryan. But, he was not alone, someone else was standing alongside him. I could not take my eyes off that particular stranger. He had a mono lid eyes, fair skin, neatly combed hair and a strong masculine scent cause by his cologne.

                                “This is Max”.

I snapped out of my thoughts as my cousin introduced us. I smiled to him and he replied by giving off a lovely smile. That signature smile he carried was intoxicating. This is where my adventure begins. What could have been a simple short family getaway was going to turn out to be bittersweet love story.

Like a knight in shining armor, Ryan saved me from the small talk. He asked for permission to allow me to be excused and took me around Clarke Quay. As we walked and enjoyed the view, I made small talk with Max. I started to know more about him and I liked how he carried
himself. He was different from guys my age. He spoke with a soft soothing voice, always serious but able to inject some humor when the time called for and he seemed matured. In the blink of an eye I felt a bond forging.

For the rest of my days in Singapore, Max took over Ryan’s role and became my tour guide. I spent a lot of time with Max. I suspected Ryan had a hidden agenda when he informed me on the second day of my trip that he could not be my companion as he was sick and sent Max to be his surrogate. I found that spending time with Max was very enjoyable. He took me off the beaten tourist tracks and showed me his local life. He took me to places he frequently hung out at, his joints, favorite food hunts and even gave a tour of his home and it’s massive compound.

The one incident where I could never forget was when we went to Ryan’s apartment and turned his room into a pig sty. Max and Ryan loves to sing. Max sung a love song from a popular boy band. The way he sang it, it was complete with emotions and feelings. At that moment I felt the same feeling when I first fell in love. A thought snapped me out of my daze as I remembered that I had a boyfriend back home. How could i forget about about that! How did he make me forget about my boyfriend?
I had a gut feeling that Max was interested in me. I was contemplating whether i should stop this before his feelings grew deeper or perhaps i was just thinking too much.
