Hi all, recently came back from Vientiane, Lao PDR from a school trip. Was lucky enough to travel on this new carrier that recently flew to Changi, Lao Airlines.

They took delivery of their latest A320 (~Oct - Nov '11) and SIN-VTE is currently their furthest destination on their route network

At Singapore, possibly being ex-station, the Lao Airline boarding passes were not used. Instead, SATS, the handling agent's boarding passes were used.

Departure:

Went up the aircraft and was turned in for a shock! Better than what was expected, possibly due to the age of this aircraft. According to a reliable source, this aircraft was destined for a Libyan Carrier but in the end Lao Airline somehow managed to purchase it.This would explain the greenish cabin colour which is not part of the national colour of Lao

They have PTV - AVOD.. A closer look !



Sadly, no headphones were provided and the games could only be played by the J class passengers which has the handheld remote. We had to resort listening to the music with your own earphones !!

Shortly after taxiing, mood lighting was switched on for take off !



Meal was served shortly after aircraft stabilised



Potato salad (top centre), spaghetti in tomato sauce, pineapple/longan jelly (top left)


Thai green curry for the main here.

The mains tasted marvelous ! Well cooked and just right albeit the small portion. The potato salad could be a little more moist.



Coupled with a refreshing can of Beer Lao !!

Nice trip report so far, seems pretty impressive for such a small airline. I flew them twice and their meal boxes came with the message "you are safe with us"!
