  • Garuda Indonesia GA361 from Bandung (BDO) to Surabaya (SUB) (+BONUS)

We all know that Garuda Indonesia has done (and still on) a massive transformation. Now, the "old Garuda" has turned into a "new Garuda" with so many great changes.
This is my first trip report when I was on Garuda Indonesia on my way from Bandung (BDO), Indonesia to Surabaya (SUB), Indonesia, on April 4th, 2012. I enjoyed the flight very much, eventhough it's only a short hop domestic flight. Especially, because this is my first flight with the "new Garuda", and I could feel a big difference with "old Garuda" flight years ago. =)

    About Bandung
Bandung is the capital city of West Java. Located 768 meters (2,520 ft) above sea level, approximately 140 km south eastern of Jakarta, Bandung has cooler temperatures all year-round than most other Indonesian cities. The city lies on a river basin surrounded by volcanic mountains. This topography provides a good natural defense system, which was the primary reason for the Dutch East Indies government's plan to move the colony capital from Batavia to Bandung.

    About Surabaya
Surabaya is Indonesia's second-largest city with a population of over 2.7 million (5.6 million in the metropolitan area), and the capital of the province of East Java. It is located on the northern shore of eastern Java at the mouth of the Mas River and along the edge of the Madura Strait.

    And now, my trip report.

    Airline: Garuda Indonesia
    Aircraft: Boeing 737-500, PK-GGD
Route: Bandung, Husein Sastranegara Airport (BDO) – Surabaya, Juanda Airport (SUB)
    Scheduled flight time: 14:35 - 15:55

The check-in system in BDO could be very fast and simple. Minutes later, I'm already in the waiting room when the PK-GGD arrives from Surabaya (and Makassar). Disembarking passengers from Surabaya.

Since it's raining, a bus is used during the boarding process. A shot from the bus.

    Getting to my seat.

    Got some candies before take-off.

    Take-off.

    Snacks were distributed...

    ...and drinks were offered.

A chinese movie was screened after the snack service.

    Landing.

Welcome to Juanda International Airport on Surabaya.

    BONUS!!!
Due to the limited number of images which can be posted here, I made a video version of this trip report. I think the video says everything about this trip. Please watch and leave a comment at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i6yxpqygjM =)
