Yeah, I Taiwan! People are mostly very nice and friendly, food is relatively cheap, lots of variety and very good, and agree that public transport is freaking cheap and efficient! 500TWD (around 20+SGD) actually lasted me 6 days of transport on MRT and buses around Taipei, Keelung and Jiufen!
Actually, if you're based in Singapore, you might want to consider visiting the Taiwan Tourism Board next time. They seem to have some offers for free MRT card. I read it some forums so you might want to give it a shot....

If GOD created me for only 1 reason. That reason would be to the love of my wife. If there was any other reasons involved, that would be for the love of Singapore Airlines
Not for me! They keep getting in my way and there were another six vans which you can not see in the picture, I did not know Taiwan had so many TV stations. But I still managed to fit my bird spotting in and while I am talking about Taiwan models a big thank you to the model who posed for me later that day, lovely smile. (Pictures will not be posted)
The problem with Taiwan is that its tourism almost caters to exclusively to people who read Traditional Chinese only. Just searching for places to go online is so difficult, if not impossible in English.
The fact that Taiwan is undercovered by international hotel chains also do not help. Its tough finding rooms unless you start searching in Chinese.
