  • Cathay Pacific Way Taipei-Hong Kong-Singapore

Hi guys. This is actually the second part of my Trip Report I did earlier on (SIN-HKG-TPE)
    Let's begin

    CX421 TPE-HKG
    November 28 2010
    Aircraft Registration: B-HNM

I chose this flight because when I booked 3 months in advanced, It was scheduled to be a B777-300ER. However 2 days before my flight,CX changed it to an ordinary 777-300. It was disappointing as I would love to fly with those mightly GE90 and with the new long haul cabin product.

I woke up for breakfast looking towards the sky and hoping the weather will turn out to be better.

We boarded the airport transfer, still no change in the stormy-looking weather.

Shortly after ... We arrived at Taipei Taoyuan Internation Airport at 10:00am.

    We proceeded to Gate B7

How I wish we were on this B747 which was scheduled to depart 40 minutes earlier then CX421 from gate B8

While waiting for my plane to arrive from Osaka, I did some spotting from the boarding area.

    And here comes my plane!

B-HOR pushing back from gate B8

Off it goes! See you in HKG B-HOR climbing out of stormy taipei.

    Boarding B-HNM

This is one of the few 773 which has the "slimlined" economy seats.

After a short walk from the cabin door. I got to my seat (31A)

As we prepared for pushback, another CX plane landed. This time round, an airbus A330 kicking up water from the soaked runway.

And it came to a stop beside us.

As we begin our pushback. I could see Eva Air special scheme at the far end of the terminal. (Sorry for the quality, It was hard to take through the rain droplets)

We beginned our taxi out to Runway 06.

That onion bun looks awful! onion bun? I've never heard of such a thing, and I don't want to try one.

However, the cockpit photo with you sitting in the right hand seat is great! Nice one

Sorry to hear that your 77w changed to a 773....it's a norm that CX always changes it's aircraft the very last minute....it happened to me a couple of months back as i was booked on a 74A to TPE on F class and was downgraded to a A333 which has only biz class...CX offered a refund of HKD 700 per pax...

Great TR so far and hope you enjoyed your trip there!

                    Thanks KevSQ !

Indeed CX always swap aircraft very often for HKG-TPE sector. Well, I still have my HKG-SIN TR to do

After disembarking ... I took a ferry to mainland shenzhen.

Holding area for the ferry boarding

                      Here comes my ferry

                      Taken from inside the ferry

Very interesting labels on the circular 'building'

Three of them showing "yiu" which means oil in chinese.

The other three were "shui" which means water.

                        My hotel lobby

I stayed at orient sunseed hotel.

                        Coca-Cola in mandarin

What amazed me the most was how beautiful the city was at night with the lights each building has. It's almost like watching a lightshow!

I think that's a 777 cockpit, it does look similar to the 744's though
