What do you do if you are in transit in Changi for 4 hours, travelling from SFO to MEL via SIN?
While most folks might stay airside, fellow SQTalker SQ228 decided to head landside to stretch his legs after 15 hours on SQ31 SFO-SIN, operated by SIA's newest A350, 9V-SJF, and was nice enough to make time for brief meet up with me in Singapore.
The original plan was to meet at Jewel and eat somethere there, but Jewel was absolutely packed on a Saturday evening (Even the Jewel carpark was full), so I picked SQ228 up and we headed into the city for a quick dinner.
We ended up eating at VietSmith at Millenia Walk, with the National Day rehearsal and fireworks happening not far away.
"Want to see fireworks?" I asked him.
"I saw enough fireworks last week!" was the reply. Oh yes, 4th of July celebrations in the USA...
SQ228 had stir fried chicken with broken rice...

I had a delicious bowl of pho...
After that, it was straight back to the airport for his flight to MEL.
SQ228 had a great trip to the USA and took many photos. Hope that he will consider posting a pictorial TR of his trip here at some point!
