  • High Flight

Ok...... I really don't know how many people will do this but lets just see what you guys can do with this poem and a picture of a plane......

The poem, High Flight, has over the years become a mantra to pilots.
It is reproduced here as a tribute to, and in memory of pilots of all generations.

    High Flight
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
    And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

    Pilot Officer Gillespie Magee
    No 412 squadron, RCAF
    Killed 11 December 1941

so play around a bit and get something like this:

and for those of you who only have MS Paint use www.picnik.com or Photoshop Express (psx)

You didn't see the one I did of the retiring 744F (I know it's a MEGA ARK but hell. It's still 744 ain't it) have you?

Singapore Airline, pride of the skies
Look at your planes and see how she flies
But while spacebeds and kebayas bring me relief
Krisflyer does me no end of grief

Enhancements keep coming, in quantum galore
but all i remember is the PPS of yore
Ah the days of the special treatment are gone
and O class these days, mostly are none

If I could I'd bring back the past
where overnighting in the SKL was a blast
but these days Air Asia and price is King
there are no Suites there, there is no bling!

With SQ I faithfully trod the beaten path
but I fear that in time there will be a bloodbath
Fares for others keep calling SQFG SQFG!
So for now, but for how long?, make mine Changi!

Ah yes, Megatop. I'll shall miss her. Sadly though, its been a long time since I've flown with her.

And WOW! That was quite something SQFG. Cheers.

                Pretty impressive effort, SQflyergirl.

                This forum has everything!

                Frivolous and the "cheem"...

That's "high brow" to non Singaporeans here
