  • Lon-Syd-Lon by BUS!

If flying LON-SYD seems long, how about taking a bus that takes 12weeks

That is pretty amazing, and looks like a lot of fun and quite an adventure!

    Are you doing it, 9V-JKL?

Ew, you'd have to pay me a million or even more for such a trip...
Remember, you'd be dependent on a bus driver all day for 12 weeks! I can't even stand the 20-minutes-busrides to and from school

And btw, what do they do if they blow their motor in a country like Iran? Wait another two weeks 'til somebody has picked up spare parts at the black market?
Capslock is cruise control for cool... not!

See you at W:O:A 2010- rain or shine!

If i had the time, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Lots of people of people can claim having done London-Sydney-London by Airplane. In fact, lots of people in a couple of months will be even able to claim having done that by SQ airBUS. THIS though... is something quite extraordinary, and I'm envious of those people going!

I'd love to go on a trip like this!

The only problem would be the seating ... 12 weeks ... what happens if I don't like the pax next to me, I can't get to sit with my SO, the pax in front reclines into my space, I get a middle seat, etc.

But bus... Look what happened to the Koreans in Afghanistan.

Would love to do this trip but just not on an old Grayhound bus which does not seem to have been upgraded at all.

I think if you do such a trip you don't look for comfort, you look for reliability and spare parts available (and easy mechanics).
