  • Row 1 overhead lockers on A320

    I don't fly A320s often. Only MI.

Can someone who flies A320s on various airlines please enlighten me?

Do all A320s lack overhead lockers for cabin bags in row 1?

It really depends on where row 1 starts on airlines.

But the short and sweet answer - yes, on the A320's that i've been on there are lockers where the first row starts, only that it is usually taken up by some crew equipment.

      Thanks SQfg

On MI, occupied on AC side by IFE. On DF side by emergency medical kit.

Makes for some entertainment when row 1 PAXs need to put their cabin bags in row 2 or 3.

Business class PAXs have higher expectation, including space for their cabin bags.

Hope the new 738s MI ordered will address this deficiency and provide more overhead locker space

I've been in row 1 seats twice on 3K.

The first time only the overhead bins on the port side are reserved for crew equipment. Starboard side is available for passenger use.

The second time both port and starboard side arr available for passenger use.

Even though on both cases I remember seeing the tag stating "For Crew Equipment" or somewhere along that line.

Yes every airline I have flown the A320 with has used the overhead lockers above row 1 for storage. Considering most are putting premium passengers or like bangkok airways their top tier frequent flyers in that row it does seem rather stupid to me.
