  • Pregnant + flying

Okay, this might be a lil off topic.

I just discovered that I'm 5 weeks pregnant and we're suppose to head to Rome in a month's time for our honeymoon.

So I googled and there's conflicting views about travelling in the first trimester. Whilst Rome would require a lot of walking and the hubby and I discussed, perhaps we can put Rome to another time (ya, like 10 years down the road after the baby's old enough???).

I've cancelled the Rome flight, with a heavy heart. But hubby is suggesting we go for something a bit more relaxing like Jeju Island in Korea.

My question is -- any thoughts about flying during trimester? Feedback most welcomed from the fathers/mothers of this forum. TIA!

1st of all & most important. CONGRATULATIONS!

The general view is that its not advisable to travel during the 1st trimester. Although, my wife & I did....but it was an easy trip to KUL (SQ A333 inaugural...). The 2nd trimester would be the best and most stable time of your pregnancy so travel all you want....we did...

However, not knowing your actual condition and not being a Gynae, I would defer to your Gynae as he/she would be the best person to answer your question on how much you can travel.
