I have heard news that at least Air Asia, Air India and Indian Airlines are going to move their operations to Terminal 2, as Terminal One is getting overcrowded.

It has been confirmed. Effective 29 March, the following 5 airlines will shift their operations to T2.
Air India
Air India Express
Indian Airlines
Asiana Airlines
Korean Air

Also, with the pullout of Swissport, SATS is going to start low cost ground handling subsidiary to handle the budget carriers. It will start initially to handle Tiger and Cebu Pacific, followed by Jetstar and probably Air Asia in the future.

Air India and Indian Airlines are already merged but will still operate as separate airlines until further notice.
