Feasible for Singapore to have Maglev train to the city?

    You 're right there. Remember, the whole System was developed for relatively long routes like Munich-Berlin. But even for such routes the building and maintenance costs outweighted the benefits over a normal train. And how should the train accelerate to 300 or 400 kmh anyway if it has to stop like every 3 to 8 km?

    By the way, such a high speed always brings up some dangers. Emergency breaking @300 kmh isn't that effective, as a crash last year on the Transrapid-testlap in Germany showed. Something like 30 people out of 40 killed

    The city of Munich is buying its own Malev now and is (rightly) critisized for wasting the taxpayers money (somehow typical for German politics- the Bavarian governor is resigning and wants to build himself a monument )
