Thanks, Flying Monkey. I like the comment, "Controllers at Changi Airport handle about 900 flights a day. Typically, a large proportion of flights fall within the AM and PM duty period". Wondering what abbreviation they use for the dead shift.

the Changi Airport Control Tower is responsible for flights on approach and landing and take-offs. But the main Long Range ATC in Biggin Hill is really the main ATC and is almost 4 times the size of the Tower and directs all air traffic in n out of SIN up to 500 km and in fact even have control over southern M'sia airspace within a certain attitude.

Would probably depend on whether ATC at Changi do a 12hr shift or an 8hr shift - if 12 it would only be AM/PM - if it were 8hr, you may see GY (GraveYard) or ON (OverNight)..
