  • 1.5hr layover - enough to store luggage?

I'm flying in from SQ323 next week (05:45AM arrival), and will be taking one carry-on and one checked bag. There supposedly are places (no clue where they are, haven't seen them myself) to store one's luggage at all terminals. I'm flying JetStar to KUL departing at 7:10AM.

I will pack all my stuff I need in KUL in my carry-on, so I can avoid luggage fees as well as the hassle. My question is: will 1,5 hours be enough time to pass through security, reclaim my bag, store it somewhere landside, transfer to T1, and catch my flight? Any thoughts?

With 1.5 hours, you really only have 30mins to do your check-in for Jetstar as their counters close about an hour before departure. Is there any way of doing an OLCI for 3K? If not, then you are cutting it a bit close.
God must have been a ship owner, he placed the raw materials far from where they are needed and covered two-thirds of the earth with water...

I know of a United connection in Narita that is only 50mins (SIN-NRT-IAH), and magically (in instances that I know of) luggage does seem to get onto the next plane on time. It is very tight, having said that, but I think it helps if they are same airline connections.

Read the first post again. He is going to claim his bag, store it somewhere. Then check in with hand carry bag only to save additional charges from JetStar.

I think not enough time especially with T3 then to T1.

Tsk, tsk. This is what happens when speed reading fails.

How about getting a through ticket to KUL with SQ?

Price may be the reason. Now a day I hardly fly SIN-KL with SQ and most of the flight is taken up by MI. Why pay more if not travelling with SQ? After all is just a 45 min flight.

Budget Airlines, if you get it late are not that cheap either. For the convinience to interline my bags, I would go for SQ all the way. There is no way OP can make it even to check in for his 3K flight once his SQ flight arrives late.

In a perfect world, Changi is a nice place to be at in OP's situation but you never know. All it takes is a late arrival to screw you up

A 5:45 am arrival on SQ and a 7:10 departure on 3K with the need to retrieve a checked bag from SQ and drop it off at the landside storage?

Not enough time, I'm afraid. Even if you arrive on time or early, it takes a while to taxi to the gate, deplane, go through immigration, collect your bag, and drop it off at storage (and yes, there is paperwork involved there).

I have myself experienced landing in T3, dropping off a checked bag at storage, and going to T2, and the experience was definitely not the way I wanted to start off my morning!

Please save yourself the stress that comes with the high possibility of missing your 3K flight and just recheck your bag to KUL with you.

                    Alright, thanks everyone!

I assume 3.5 hours is sufficient?
