Looking for Boutique hotel in outside LA

LA Experts, I seek your help in recommending a luxury boutique hotel outside of LA, maybe Santa Monica or OC and with Pacific Ocean views or somewhere you think is better.

Am looking at either The Ambrose or Viceroy in Santa Monica now but if you know better, please advise.
