  • What are the different fare classes on SQ?

    Its been almost a decade since I travelled on SQ, I was 11 on my last SQ flght! I will be travelling SQ to Sydney later on in the year though.

    I'm still lost when it comes to fare classes on SQ.

    Does anyone here know what the different fare classes are and which do they correspond to?

    I know on SQ website Q is the Super Saver fare and E is the Flexi fare for Economy. I have no idea about the other classes.

            What's the range of number of seats per fare class available? Is there any particular ratio?

              Gd qn...i think it varies for different flights and i suspect they do "block" some lowest travel class seats on a380 flights, to ensure people buy their more expensive travel class fares. That is my opinion, not sure whether I'm right.

              For ex-SIN market, the order should be:
              V = special promo fares,
              G = Group fares,
              N = GV4 fares,
              Q = GV2 fares,
              E = FIT 1 mth fare/ 14 days max for S.E.A. countries,
              K = Interline Fares with other airlines, e.g. AA, TN, PS
              M = RTW Fare
              Y = 12 mths fare, can do open-jaw,
              S = same as Y fare/ one-way fare
              J = the restrictive business fare, 12 mths
              C,Z = flexi business fare/one-way fare, 12 mths
              F = no min/max stay
              R = Suites class on a380 only

              X, I, O = award redemption on the respective classes.

              If I'm not wrong, booking class like B,W,H,T is not applicable in SIN market...any experts may want to clarify...haha

                      Anyone knows how many categories of C Class there are? I have seen C1 but not sure if there are C2 seats? What are the differentiators?

                        Not sure about C1 and C2, but usually the entire fare basis code forms the differentiator...

                        e.g. COW, CRT, sometimes even a country code to denote point of sale, e.g COWMY - plus many other codes.

                            K is becoming ultra cheap fares in SIN

                              W has been sold a lot as return promotional fares from Australia with extra baggage allowance prior to 30kg becoming standard, usually as "Saver".

                              Most of my tickets seem to have been W or 'YW'.
