  • SQ iPhone/iPod Touch app is finally here!

    Hey guys,

I was doing a search for some travel apps on the app store and guess what i found? Number 2 in the list of "Top Free" apps was an SQ app and i had to try it! Looks pretty OK to me!

Not a very good app. For a start:

Entering my phone number required me to disable my emoji keyboard because some icons were blocking the icon to access the regular keyboard.

Was also hoping for a HD version - SQ if you're listening, check out CX's iphone version AND their ipad version! Those are the gold standards for me now.

Just installed / played with it... it's rather average. I'd install the CX one, but I don't have an MPC account so I'll just pretend SQ's is the best for now.

      Bring on a BD app!

Ya you are right.. now that i have tried it thoroughly, it's just average! Agree with you that CX is better. I guess SQ is just trying out the possibility of introducing an app, but they could have done a better job the first time itself.. disappointing Hoping for a version update with better user friendliness soon! And yes, I would love SQ to have an ipad version with 2D barcode scanning!

Huh? It looks sharp on my iPhone 4. 960x640 is clearly supported.

It won't display details on my bookings.

Oh in the iPhone 4 it's fine. On an iPad blown up 2x it looks grainy and typical of iPhone apps running on an iPad. Cx and mh have iPad specific apps though and they look great.

Pic probably doesn't show it well but it doesn't look very nice on an iPad.

Compared to this: sorry for the non rotation

iPhone 4 apps don't get blown up 2x on the iPad -- that only happens with iPhone apps at 480x320. iPhone 4 apps are shown on the iPad at native 1x resolution of 960x640. They just don't quite fill the 1024x768 screen of the iPad.

Seems like a long way short of 960x640 on my iPad.

As far as I know, the only resolutions currently supported by iOS are 480x320, 960x640, and 1024x768. If it were 480x320, it would look dreadful on my iPhone 4.

For whatever it's worth, I think releasing an iOS app in 2011 that doesn't support 1024x768 is pathetic.

I'm with SQFG on this. It's pretty grainy on my iPad, and the functions didn't impress. Surprising they didn't launch a HD version although the iPad was out before they launched this app. Hope they take a leaf from CX!

Just like what StarG said.... can't see my bookings' detail on that app...

iPhone 4 apps which are also compatible for iPad's native 1024x768 res are designated by a small + sign on the price button in the app store. The very fact that the SQ app didnt have the + sign explains why it looks so ugly on the iPad cos its only meant for iPhone 4's 960x640 res.

Hopefully an iPad compatible app will be on SQ's app development road map soon.

this app is somewhat ok, in fact i hate when it asks for your phone number.
