  • Where are SQ'a 77Ws flying to?

I'm sitting in HND now .
Last month , i flew up here and the 77W was sub with a 773 .
Today , my flight has been delayed and it has been sub with a 773 again .
Somehow , isit based on my luck(None going well so far) or are they promising a new product in all the advertisements only to appear with their old product?
Do they have sufficient 77Ws for all their flights ?
Or is nothing going right at all for this trip :'(

Based on current airframe utilization, the destinations served vv. rotation only allow at most one frame to go MIA before the schedules start to go gaga.

Did you travel on days where flights elsewhere were delayed due to weather?
SQ's track record for last minute aircraft swaps aren't as bizarre as TG or CX

As for weather i am not too sure .
I do know that the two flights i was on were fully booked .
But when i got onboard , it painted a different picture .
I guess they may have sub in the 773 for more seats .
I didn't know SQ utilizes their aircraft that much , seeing so many parked out on the stands .

If you mentioned that the flight was fully booked, yes, then they might sub the a/c for more seats.

But i kinda think that it's utterly disappointing for them to sub in an older product while they're out there advertising their latest products on TV and Newspapers

Probably capacity. I know one local travel agent has a package via HND which take up rate seems high according to a friend working in there

Perhaps we can change the phrase to 'I got SQ'ed' based on recent events

ExpertFlyer's showing SQ634 is old 773 again today.
HND is getting less attractive if it is more prone to last minute equipment changes than NRT.
It is a HUGE deal to be downgraded from long haul 1-2-1 config J to old regional J!

I went to Haneda on Thurs nite and it was on a 777-300. The flight up was torture. And I was due to return to Singapore on this morning's flight which was changed to the regional 773 as well, which meant my entire trip would have been on the regional 773, which is why i had no choice but to take last night's flight out of Haneda. I stayed in Tokyo for 24 hours, and paid for 2 nights of hotel, to end up staying in the hotel for less than 8 hours ! I heard that the problem on the 6th was due to one plane breaking down in Singapore, that was due to go to SF, so they took the Haneda 773 ER to use for the SF route, and this morning's flight was due to one 777 ER breaking down in Auckland. The flight to Haneda on J class had only 15 pax, and economy wasn't full either. I am pretty sure it was not because of capacity, because the flights that were downgraded were not full. The regional J for 8 hours is really back breaking and once is more than enough for me.

I got my travel agent to OLCI for me and he said that the flight was full and my seats couldn't be changed . When i arr in HND , i went to the Ginza ticket office to change my seats but was told that the flight was full as well . Finally , when i returned to the airport , i changed my seat only to be told that the flight was delayed . To make matters worst , i already had a full day of travel behind me , the bloody fire alarm was ringing throughout the airport , my trench coat got stolen at the lounge and when i got home to finally be able to crash on my bed , my other half locked me out of the room ....
