Barcelona is simply a touristic destination as opposed to Milan which has business connections around the world.

Barcelona is far more than a 'simply tourist destination',it's got a lot of business connections around the world, top 2 business cities in Spain with Madrid, busy port, etc

It's probably even more unlikely as Barcelona is opening a new terminal this year dedicated for Asian bound destinations. Terminal Sur is larger and nicer than the terminal SIA is using now.

This plan has now been terminated. There are no current plans to terminate or suspend Barcelona from the Singapore Airlines network.
