I dont know if this has been posted yet but SQ won best airline 2007 from skytrax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skytrax is a joke anyway, but the amount of awards handed out these days makes the vast majority of them less than worthless. Every airline or airport in the world can drum up some form of 'claim' to have won some form of pointless award or other. This seems to be a particular habit in the Asia Pacific region.

One of the best I've seen yet was while reading an article in a magazine last week, I think it was in World Airports or something similar but it had an article about KUL. The first bit that amused me was the claim that after modelling itself on Changi, it had now surpassed it in many ways. Brilliant !!

The best bit though was a shot of the LCCT at KLIA and there was this huge banner announcing that their LCCT had won best LCCT in Asia Pacific in 2006. Now, can anyone tell me how many other LCCT's there actually are in the region ?, as I can only count TWO !!. If so they had a 50/50 chance of winning it anyway, but that didn't stop this huge banner being produced and hung up in the terminal. Gotta love 'em !!

And you obviously think there's an issue there as you've brought that subject up numerous times now.

I don't think many would do that now! For my tupence worth, I think SQ are probably worthy winners, based on my experiences over the last 12 months.

This deserves a repeat for it's immense scathing value:

"Skytrax is not the benchmark by which we measure our performance against other airlines, and we don't treat a single click-to-vote award as a representation of the airline's total performance. For the record, nor did we when we topped the Skytrax award in 2004."

Finally, skytrax's world airline awards gets a worthy winner! BTW, am I the only one who noticed that in the top 10 listing, it said SQ ranked 2nd last year when they were given the 7th spot in last years awards? And I was really suprised that MAS won 4th best business class when BA's new club world didn't even rank! And Korean Air winning best economy?

At the risk of sounding like an anti-TG troll.... TG at number 2...ugh.
FWIW I'd personally rate a lot of the other carriers lower down the list, QF, CX, BA (at least they've got consistent, quality long haul seating and better wine lists - well maybe an exception to that for Monopole...), NZ, MH all above TG.
