SIA Training Centre to open to public for the first time

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Airlines (SIA) Training Centre will open to the public for the first time on Jul 25 as part of the national carrier’s SG50 celebrations.


In a press release issued on Friday (Jun 19), SIA said its Open House, which will be held from 9am to 6pm, will give visitors access to the behind-the-scenes of its pilot and cabin crew training.


The award-winning airline added that it will organise walking tours of the Flight Simulator, Safety Training and Cabin Crew training facilities, as well as an all-day carnival. There will also be the SIA Heritage Gallery, which will showcase SIA’s development over the years.


Children aged between four and 10 can participate in an “exclusive Junior Cabin Crew Experience”, a 60-minute activity providing the children an opportunity to don the iconic SIA cabin crew uniform and to role-play in a replica of the airline’s A380 Business Class cabin.


“It has been an exciting year for Singapore Airlines as we celebrate the nation’s 50th Birthday while giving back to the community,” said Mr Christopher Cheng, chairman of the SIA Open House and Art Competition Committee, and senior vice president of human resources.


“Through the Open House, we aim to provide a unique and memorable experience for the public to see what goes on behind the scenes at SIA.”

Other than the actual simulator area where they do the evacuation training and so it is really not that special a place. You won't be missing the "experience of a lifetime" especially once you see the canteen

I'm getting an Overwhelming Response message.

That's not 'technically' true as those of us who were in First for SQ747/748 the final 744 flights to/from HKG had a tour of the training centre.

Fortunately, I can also confirm that they admitted a huge bunch of TOF-ers last year. I snuck in along with them.

I do wish to one day experience the food/wine-tasting pressure chamber and see the food prep area

Mhm I think nothing much changed other than the vendors in the canteen from what I "heard" Either way, you guys have fun. The pool with simulator for water landing evacuation is always cool.
