  • Booking redemption flights via Star Alliance partners

Ok, so apologies for the hugely basic question.
I'read the policies and instructions on the SQ website about how to redeem KF miles for flights etc.

I've got 31,000 at the moment, which is apparently just about enough for a return flight within Europe with star alliance affiliated outfit.
But I'm struggling to try and piece this whole thing together, because i'm catastrophically disorganised and generally useless (currently having bathroom ripped out, which means up at the crack of dawn everyday to trek to the gym to use the showers etc...no amount of coffee is helping....)

So, how (and importantly who) would you piece together and redeem a return flight from, oh i don't know, Manchester to Oslo in for a quick two-nighter October?
I'd rather have a long weekend out of the miles than lose them.

If God had really intended men to fly, he'd make it easier to get to the airport.

You'd probably start by calling Krisflyer (on the SQ website, once you've logged in, you can also check out how many miles you'll require to redeem/trip planner etc)...

Then tell them which flights you want, or what days you want to fly on, and when.

Should be relatively straightforward from then on.

Your only options from MAN to OSL seem to be SK direct or LH via Germany. I would choose SK (despite being a worse Y product), just because I personally wouldn't want to faff with transiting when I'm flying in Y and there is a direct option available.

After that, it will be a matter of hunting and pecking for availability with the KrisFlyer agents, as Kyo suggested.

The ANA tool will show you availability for MAN-OSL, so choose your flight numbers and dates and tell the KrisFlyer agents rather than get them to search.

Additional Tip on getting the PRN

          Dear Javaman

Once you have confirmed your flight details with KF call centre, they will email your itinerary with a SQ PNR when they had finished booking the flight on your behalf. But that won't do as I had found out. See the threadlink attached:

          http://www.sqtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7815

To cut the long story short, once you know which airline you are flying with, call them to get your PNR so that you can do your online checkline. KF Centre won't have the no on their system.
there's nothing more rewarding than flying for free, is there??
