  • Kapitan visit Pisa....

Well, Italy is such a beautiful country.... I have a chance again to come to Italy and took some time off to visit the city of Pisa, and to have a look at the magnificent Leaning Tower of Pisa..... it is a wonderful sight, something which I will never forget. I just love old historical buildings and I count myself fortunate to have been and seen so many that many have only seen it in pictures.....

The train station .... Pisa Centrale....

Cross the street from central station and you will be on the right track towards the Tower... you will also find that there are many tourist walking in that direction or from that direction....

You will come to the Arno River, which divides Pisa into two... and a beautiful sight...

My images are different from yours. Mine are of idyllic long hot summer evenings - adolescent boys on bicyles and sultry women; handsome Italian men on their Vespas, with their pretty signorinas in tow.

                      Thanks for bringing some memories!

Quite a number of years ago, I was meant to be flying Ryanair back from Forli airport (near Bologna) to London Stansted. Unfortunately, due to the weather in the UK, they cancelled the last flight back and I ended up being rebooked to fly back from Pisa (about 90 miles to the south) the next day. (No compensation whatsoever from FR of course - I had to pay for the night in a local hotel and the train to Pisa myself.)

I don't remember any of the scenery above, except the Pisa tower. And now I could not find my pictures collection (yeah pre-digital camera I have now). I only remember went to Pisa by train with my nieces and friends. Hmm must be memory lost from my head injury.
Anyhow, thank you for the report!

                            It's called BATTISTERO.
There's only One way to fly.... SINGAPORE AIRLINES!
If SQ is too expensive, the other way to fly is Qatar Airways
