More companies are seeking to capture the hearts, and business, of female customers by offering services staffed by "ikemen" (Japanese slang for good-looking young men), working as chauffeurs, cooking class chefs and flight attendants.

Japan Airlines (JAL) also operated a special "Ikemen Flight" between Haneda and Kagoshima on May 5, 2009, with all eight flight attendants aboard classed as "good-looking male attendants," according to a public relations official at the airline.
Among JAL's flight attendants, there are only slightly over 40 men while there are 7,000 women. It's rare to see the male attendants since they usually fly between Narita and London. After receiving positive feedback from "Ikemen Flight" passengers, JAL is considering running the flight again in the future.
