haha. so yeah, i watched "Batman begins" just two days ago but I don't think there is something essential to know.

Batman begins basically just tells the story on how Bruce Wayne lost his parents, wandered around in search of himself and, fed up with criminality in Gotham City, became Batman in order to face his fear of bats

His enemy was his old teacher and he already knows commissioner Gordon. In "The Dark Knight" it's basically about the appearance of the Joker. This was a great cliffhanger at the end of Batman Begins.

Anyway, why don't you just read the plot at imdb.org?

oh...I know the plot but wanted to know if there are any details or miniplots from batman begins that maybe brought up in TDK and I might be sitting in the cinema not knowing what the heck is going on. Haha.

      Have you watched TDK Florian?

I just watched it and loved it. The acting is great, especially Heith Ledger's role as the Joker. The best movie I've seen this year!

You don't have to watch Batman Begins to understand this movie, but it will help a bit in terms of Batman's background and how he comes to the stage at Dark Knight. I just watched the movie yesterday and it was a rather long movie. It's quite dark and murkier Batman movie, a lot of things happened at the same time and probably this is a Batman movie where things can go wrong, even if you do the right thing.

Joker's acting was really good, I can understand why Heath Ledger was so depressed during the filming, he potrays Joker very well.

Almost decided not to go after reading singaporu_kooku's post.
I don't really like dark & murky & longish movies.
But imdb rating is 9.6... will probably watch it tonight.

Oh.. You should go and watch it, StarG. It's definitely interesting, more sophisticated Batman movie, more for adults, rather than kids. Batman has gone a long way from this...

I quite agree,...a long way backwards! Sure, the new movies are entertaining, but the true Batman, for me, will always be Adam West

This story is based on why Batman is given the title "Dark Knight" after being public enemy no. 1

Finally got to see it just now after not being able to get any good seats last weekend.
Indeed the movie is not to be missed.
Great acting by the late Heath Ledger.

I haven't seen it yet (I'll get around to it sooner or later), but from the scenes that have been flashing around, quite a bit of it looks vaguely familiar.
