I have done this type of bookings where my tickets were paid and the Mrs and Ms were redemption. However, I usually sorted out the redemption tickets first before I do my bookings primarily because I do have PPS status and paid tickets are easier to change.
I suspected the issue is not so much a paid ticket traveling with a redemption one but rather their system issues. Possibly they figured out that it was a mistake in their system as their are usually not very flexible at customer service staff level. Frankly don't know how it works.
BTW, I just returned from two literally consecutive trips first to Seoul and on return at 1 am, took the same day trip to Mumbai at 7.35 am in morning. Another trip to Seoul coming up on the 1st of Feb followed by HKG on the 7th of Feb. Very tired.
A holiday trip in June for us is that Mrs might want to Swatow again in June as she is a standard Teochew who loved her Teochew food.
