While the config of the SIA 737-800s are the same, the row numbers are different. The 12 Business class seats are across Rows 11, 12 and 14, while Economy class starts from Row 41 like it does with the other aircraft in the SIA fleet.

Makes sense for consistency.

I still think it's funny that they skip Row 13! Is Jetstar the only airline in Singapore that does not do this?

If one looks at the topmost picture on this website, one can make out a silhouette of what could be the next business class seats on the SQ 737...

It would be the same old Silkair business class seat although some may have been reupholstered. However if one is flying to a destination which is served by SQ widebody too, one needs to look at the type of aircraft that is used as now with the integration of Silkair into SIA, there could be both a 738 and A350 serving the same destinations. The fare and redemption points would be the same although the 738 business class seat is way far way downsize from say the A350R/787.

Interesting fact I found through a dummy booking on the HKT flight:

Outbound is 4/3/21 on SQ736, but the earliest inbound listed is on 7/3/21 as SQ725.

Anyone know why 4-6 Mar have no inbound HKT-SIN services and why the inbound number isn't SQ735/737 but SQ725 instead? Haha.

It's the timing of the flights... the outbound SQ736 departs in the afternoon but the return SQ725 departs in the morning the next day. When things return to normal most likely they'll have the gaps in the flight numbers filled in.

Actually it does not matter much as which destinations these 738s will fly to as eventually possibly by next year all Silkair destinations will be served by SIA's painted 738s and 738 maxes.

Given the current situation and fiscal position of SIA, there's always a possibility of routes being closed, so I guess it does matter.

SIA has made a point of wanting to use 737s for mainline routes where there's not necessarily enough demand to support a widebody. Those planes will have to come from somewhere, and I'd think there's not mileage one gets from running a widebody on an ex-MI-only route.

Yes now that Silkair will be merged into SIA, it will be easier to swap its narrow body for its wide body flights whenever it is needed. However, in the past it was also the same as initially Silkair flew to Shenhzen and later the flight was given to SIA with its widebody plane and then subsequently reverted back to Silkair. It's similiar like for Yangon and a few similar destinations too. But now its all under one which is SIA. However, there may be a possibility even a switch from Scoot to SIA or vice versa too.

Did SQ even fly to SZX beforehand? The press release about their recent launch indicated it was a 100% new route

RGN on the other hand was a mix of SQ (1x A333 daily) and multiple MI 738/A320s before the pandemic
