The First Class Experience with Garuda Indonesia

WOW! Awesome TR! I'm completely blown away!

What I didn’t expect was that one of the First Class lounge attendant actually waited for me in front of the bathroom with hot towels and some hand moisturizer for me to use when I came out. I was really taken aback with this. I guess this was to make up for no private bathroom in the current make shift lounge. Kudos to GA for trying so hard to impress and so far I had been very impressed with the service rendered and the service attitude of the First Class staff to me.

Will GA's F Lounge have showers rooms WITH toilets in them...unlike TPR?

...and a small plate of macadamia nuts.

But were they warm?

‘WOW’… that’s what registered in my mind at that moment. What an experience! Garuda is really trying to treat its First Class passengers as royalties here. I expected to be handed a pair of slippers only but I didn’t expect the crew to help out in the process and to have such a ‘First’ class treatment for passengers and their shoes. Kudos to you, Garuda!

And she's even wearing white gloves!

I think NH is the only other carrier still using the mother of pearl spoons.

Soon after, the orange juice arrived. This is how Garuda serves orange juice for breakfast to its First Class passengers. A true 5* style!





The fruit platter was amazingly fresh and sweet.

I so miss the fruit in SE Asia!

Garuda is having a very interesting First Class product

Are they vintage champagne on board as on the ground ?

This is the Champagne served on board:

2000 Billercart-Salmon Cuvee Nicolas-Francois (Vintage)

and

Laurent-Perrier Cuvee Rose Brut NV

I wonder if that level of service can be maintained on a fuller flight.

Based on this TR, GA is definitely up there with the best in the industry.

TR for the 2nd segment from NRT - CGK will be posted separately soon. I believe the crew did very well also with 4 passengers onboard.

And to the question regarding the pyjamas: Yes, they are for us to keep.

As for the macadamia nuts, I don't think they were served warm.

Toilets in the shower room? I guess we have to wait until the new lounge finishes its renovation. I do hope they will have toilets in them. What I know for sure is that there will be a grand piano in the lounge, a spa treatment rooms, and a dining area.

Great TR fella.

I agree with the other comments that is does indeed look like it was worth waiting for and they have got it right, even allowing for the slight bias from our resident Mr Garuda himself.

To be fair StarG, who knows a thing or two about FCL travel, also praised them highly after flying the route the day before. I was pressing him for a TR of his own but he pointed out that you were also flying it so you should have the honor of doing one.

Like milehighj says, I look forward to them launching the true longhaul serives to Europe and the US, but I will definitely have a look to see if I can find a reason/excuse to give them a try.

Still, fair play to GA. From a supposed basket case to a new and impressive looking First Class in such a short time is some going. The JCL looks pretty decent as well.
