Singapore Airlines is planning to restructure to more closely align the company’s commercial, operational and corporate planning activities.
The new structure, which will come into effect on 1 February 2011, will see all commercial areas, including marketing and sales as well as the delivery of products and services, be consolidated under Executive Vice President Commercial Mr Mak Swee Wah. Mr Mak is currently Executive Vice President Operations and Services.
Mr Ng Chin Hwee will oversee all human resources and operational activities as Executive Vice President Human Resources and Operations. These will include the divisions of Cabin Crew, Engineering, Flight Operations and Human Resources. Mr Ng is currently Executive Vice President Human Resources and Planning.
A separate Corporate Planning division will also be formed, headed by Mr Lee Lik Hsin, currently Divisional Vice President Planning.
“The existing structure that has been in place for several years has served SIA very well,” said Singapore Airlines’ CEO, Mr Goh Choon Phong. “With recent senior management changes in the company, now is the appropriate time for an organisational restructuring. By aligning closely-linked activities within commercial, operational and corporate planning areas, we can be more nimble to take on new challenges and pursue fresh opportunities for growth.”
Mr Mak, Mr Ng and Mr Lee will report directly to Mr Goh, as will Senior Vice President Finance Mr Chan Hon Chew.
