    As good a time as any to try out these new concepts.

    Looks similar to Air New Zealand's previous concept of turning a row of Y seats into a sleeper seat.

    One difference is that Air New Zealand's SkyCouch has a part of the seat/leg rest that folds up to fill the gap between the seats, thus creating a wider horizontal surface. Lufthansa's does not have that. Still, worthy attempt for additional ancillary revenue.

      Good point...in LH's case, it is just a row of 3 (or 4) Y seats, although they do supply a pillow and seat topper as well.

      The article states that they will charge USD260 to upgrade to this "sleeper row"...this isn't cheap, but if this was a long haul flight, say SIN-FRA, I think this a reasonable price, although I would not call it a bargain. Personally speaking, if this was USD 150 (About SGD 200) or lower, it would be a no-brainer for me to take up this offer. At USD260 I would probably think a little harder...
