Ethiopean 787 taking off at DXB

Just landed in Dubai on SQ494 SIN-DXB a few hours ago...on landing roll, I spotted, from my window seat, an Ethiopean 787 taxiing towards the same runway for takeoff.

We turned off the runway, and while taxiing to the gate, I snapped this photo of ET603 taking off from Dubai, enroute to Addis Ababa.

    Glad 787's are flying again!

Battery sensor problems now ... but doesn't look too serious.

Reports that LHR is closed due to an aircraft fire, reportedly on an Ethiopian Airlines bird. When I took off this morning the ET aircraft on the ground was a 787....

It was indeed an ET 787, catching file while parked up on a remote stand at the top of the fuselage just in front of the tail.

As is usual with these things, one brings two and another 787 belonging to Thompson has returned to MAN today part way into a transatlantic flight.

ET-AOP may not have seen her last flight just yet:

All the problems will be fixed by the time they've redesigned everything, component-by-component over the coming years.

Badly wiring a fire extinguisher, though, doesn't 'just happen' when rules are supposed to be followed.

I saw an ET 787 at LHR last week, closely followed by a BA one, which I was amused to see was being towed.
