  • SQ495 has departed DXB close to 2AM and is estimated to arrive at around 1PM (almost 6 hours late). I wonder what happened.

    • SQ426|18MAY (SIN-BOM) operated by 9V-SWO diverted to Ahmedabad and subsequently repositioned to Mumbai after spending nearly 2 hours on the ground.

As a result, the return SQ425|18MAY (BOM-SIN) was delayed.

Aircraft was originally 9V-STC, flight crew had a problem with the navigation display on the FO side as it was not displaying the map and also some navigation problems. Engineers tried to fix it including rebooting the whole aircraft but to no avail. It was declared AOG 45mins after departure time and aircraft was swapped with 9V-SSI. It took them another 2 hours as the gates were at the other end of the terminal 2 with moving of cargo, baggage, catering and passengers.

              Thanks !
Except for one day, FR24 shows the SQ221/232 rotation being operated by SKU. Why are you saying no more new Suites? SKV is rotating on the LHR and HKG flights

              • SQ853|23MAY (CAN-SIN) operated by 9V-STV had departed Guangzhou on schedule but had to return to the airport very shortly after departure.

The aircraft is still in Baiyun Airport and is now expected to arrive into SIN later tonight as SQ853D.

                • Is there another 772 out of action? SQ872 took off about two hours late and is currently using SWW which had only arrived from HND when SQ872 was supposed to leave. SQ912/919 is also normally a 772 service but they’re using STW today.

SQ835|24MAY (PVG-SIN) operated by 9V-SVM is delayed about 22 hours. In fact, there are two SQ835s (the other being 9V-SRP) in the air at the moment.

Perhaps could be a repercussion because of that.

There's been quite a bit of chaos over the last couple of weeks with breakdowns and shortages of certain plane types. I suspect a lot of aircraft are now out of place and it will take a few days at least to get them back to where they should be.

The number of small sub-fleets of old 777s they are currently operating isn't very efficient, combined with introducing new planes that they still have small numbers of. Stressful times for their operational staff.

I just got off SQ955 from Jakarta and it’s turning straight back to Jakarta as SQ958. Good thing the flight arrived 15 minutes early because SQ958 is scheduled to leave at 12:30, just 15 minutes after our scheduled arrival time. The departure time of 958 has been pushed back to 13:15. SQ958 normally uses the plane from SQ953 but SQ953’s 773 had been subbed to 772 this morning.

                        • SQ308|27MAY (SIN-LHR) initially operated by 9V-SKR (ex-SQ335) was delayed for almost 4 hours due to an engineering issue. 9V-SKT (ex-SQ25) operating the flight with a change of crew.

                          9V-SKT is trailing just behind SQ318|27MAY (9V-SWG).

                          • SQ878|31MAY (SIN-TPE) initally operated by 9V-STU returned to Singapore due to a technical issue requiring an aircraft change.
Below is the status for SQ878 which returned to SIN:
                            ATD: 1220
                            ATA: 1305

9V-SSI is the replacement aircraft and will operate to Taipei as SQ878D with the following schedule:
                            STD: 1510
                            STA: 1947

Just heard first hand from a passenger on board that 9V-STU failed to climb to cruising altitude after takeoff and had to fuel jettison to return back to Singapore.
