    I don't understand why lounges in the US charge for drinks. Why not just call them 'bars?' You get a drinks chit for 1 free drink, and thats it.

    Not only because they're cash-strapped, but because U.S. airlines apparently love to play lowest common denominator, which I find to be tragic, considering that Asian and European airlines are moving forward.

      The SkyTeam lounges (WorldClubs - especially DTW, CRCs and PCs) are the best in the US that way - open bar, unlike RCCs/ACs.
