  • Korea - Resort close to beach?

    Hello!
Is there anyone able to suggest location and resort hotel in Korea where to spend 3 or 4 days close to the beach during the summer (possibly not too pricy).
Thank you in advance for every suggestion.
    Luke

If SQ is too expensive, the other way to fly is Qatar Airways

Jeju Island is the main place in Korea. Never been but people I know have and quite like it. Busan has got beaches but I wouldn't spend much time there myself.

Any particular reason why you have chosen Korea for a beach holiday, Luke ?.

If you mean Haeundae than that is probably the main place there but it doesn't do a lot for me, and I stay at the Westin there each time I go. Granted I haven't been there in the full summer season when the weather is nice so it may be better than, but I am not a fan of Busan period.

I usually stay in the Novotel or SeaCloud across the road, given the Westin's upgrade for the APEC meeting priced it out of my budget...... and especially in the summer.

Almost the whole of Korea heads to Haeundae in the summer.

It is ridiculously priced then and finding a space on the beach is near impossible. I got stuck for a weekend there a couple of years ago in the height of the summer season, you know with beach concerts, umbrellas and mini-fireworks. Hotels prices were double and the place mobbed, not my idea of fun certainly and not what i would class a "resort" getaway/feel.

The Asia Lakeside Hotel in Jinju is close to (sweet) water - the name is a telltale. It's one of my all time favourites in Korea and I just think might appeal to the OP.
