    Updated ADL Airport Information

    Getting to/from the Airport

    Taxi

There is a designated taxi rank located at the left of the pedestrian plaza as you walk out of the terminal. Concierges provide a safe environment and allocate taxis to passengers. They can also organise taxis with baby capsules, wheelchair access, five-seaters and maxi taxis for larger groups or station wagons for large amounts of baggage,

The cost of taxis to the CBD (about 15minutes) are approximately $20-$25 depending on the time of day. Taxi prices are regulated and are charged according to the meter. Taxis only accept Australian currency and will generally accept payment by credit card subject to a 10% surcharge.

There is also a $3 levy added to fares for taxis leaving the airport.

    Chauffeured vehicles

Chauffeured vehicles can be booked from Adelaide Airport at any time. The designated pick-up area is just to the left of the taxi rank as you leave the terminal, although in most cases your driver will be able to meet you in the general arrivals oncourse either at the bottom of the main escalators if arriving on a domestic flight or immediately outside of the international restricted area.

    Ride sharing

Ride sharing services such as Uber are now available at Adelaide Airport. A designated pick up facility is just to the left of the short-term car park as you leave the terminal. Walk across the main pedestrian plaza and then cross at the pedestrian lights at the pick-up and drop-off zone.

Remember you will need to book your ride-sharing service using the relevant app before proceeding to the pick-up facility.

There is also a $3 levy added to fares for ride-sharing services leaving the airport.

    Rental Car

Car rental desks are located on the general arrivals concourse on Level 0 adjacent to the domestic baggage claim area. Parking for car rentals is located on the ground floor of the multi-level short term car park.

The following companies have desks at the airport:
    AVIS | www.avis.com.au
    Budget | www.budget.com.au
    Europcar | www.europcar.com.au
    Hertz | www.hertz.com
    Thrifty | www.thrifty.com.au
    RedSpot Sixt | www.redspot.com.au

Your car rental company will direct you to the correct parking location to pick up your vehicle. To drop off your car rental, follow the signage to the car rental area on the ground floor of the multi-level car park.

    Adelaide Metro Bus Service

If you wish to use public transport to/from Adelaide Airport, Adelaide Metro offers an express bus service called JetExpress between the airport and the city (Route Number J1X). Some journeys are also operated by a double decker bus fitted with baggage storage. The express service operates approximately every half hour between 7.15am and 8.15pm Mon-Fri with a journey time of 20mins.

Adelaide Metro also offers a convenient JetBus service to/from Glenelg, West Beach, Marion, West Lakes and the City, servicing all stops en route (Route Numbers J1, J3, J7 and J8).

Both JetExpress and JetBus are standard Metroticket services. Single trip and daytrip tickets can be purchased from bus drivers.

Pick up and drop off is from the bus stop located on the left hand side of the pedestrian plaza as you leave the Terminal.

      Airport Hotel

There are currently no major hotels within or adjacent the airport complex. The construction of a new 165 room Atura branded hotel connected directly to the terminal has commenced and is expected to open in the last quarter of 2018.

Major hotels can be found in the Adelaide CBD or in Glenelg. Hotels include:

      Adelaide CBD:
      Intercontinental (North Terrace)
      Stamford Plaza (North Terrace)
Playford Adelaide MGallery by Sofitel (North Terrace)
      Hilton Adelaide (Victoria Square)

      Spectator Facilities

      Spectator Facilities

There are no dedicated spectator facilities within the terminal complex. However, the departure concourse is fully accessible to visitors (with the exception of Gates 16 to 22 when being used for International flights) and allows uninterrupted views of airside operations, taxi way and runway. There are 3 spectator areas adjacent to the airport perimeter which allow views of the runway.

Given the limited number of International flights and standardization of domestic fleets (A320 or B737) the spotting opportunities are limited however, there is a steady procession of international departures between 0730hrs and 1130hrs (CX, CZ, SQ. MH, NZ) and between 2000hrs and 2300hrs (EK, QR, FJ).

There are also regular freighter flight services by Australian Air Express, Atlas Air, MASkargo, SQ Cargo and Toll Aviation.

We also see occasional medical and technical diverts. These have included:

      Etihad B77W and A380
      Emirates A380
      Air New Zealand B789
      Qantas A333 and A380
