Security Screening

Seven years ago, I noticed that if you take SQ to SIN, a security check awaits you immediately after disembarkation. Instead of going directly to the exit, we were rerouted through the holding area and into the security checks. However last year and 2002 when we took different carriers, we went straight to the exit. Does SQ still require passengers to undergo security screening immediately after disembarkation at SIN?
