Nice TR mate! Would like to try the AB6 one day.
God must have been a ship owner, he placed the raw materials far from where they are needed and covered two-thirds of the earth with water...

Thanks for an interesting report. Seems odd to think of the A300 as a classic, A long, long time ago I remember watching out for the Super Guppy which would have likely been ferrying A300 wing parts from Chester to Toulouse. Most peculiar looking aircraft.

Thanks for the TR. Haven't flown the A300 for over 2 decades, and the last time was with MH. I was going to fly one with TG this past June on a CNX-BKK sector, but opted for the 747-400 flight instead.

Ah the ever present TG AB6. Experienced this type of plane far too often on my Travels in thailand.

Certainly brings back memories! thanks for sharing

Yeah it certainly is a prominent feature in the world of Thailand domestic flying! Probably will be until the A321s eventually arrive.

Most of us regular travellers do tend to pick the non-A300 and non-737 flights if we can on TG. But sometimes they are very difficult to avoid. The 747 that morning was completely sold out!

Well I guess the original A300 is a 1970s design really but she still flies great! The last A300 Freighter was produced in 2007 so there is a few that are only 3 years old.

Thanks very much for whetting my appetite for my first visit to HKT (also on TG domestic) this weekend, albeit in J (did you manage to snap any pics of the J seats from the really old bird?)

                      Ah! TG to HKT!

I flew this route two years ago - TG223 BKK-HKT on a 747. Took off, meals handed out, meals suddenly whipped away without explanation, then an annoucement saying that we had to return to BKK, the IFE showed the plane had turned around, we landed within half an of takeoff, met by several emergency vehicles which escorted us from the runway to the terminal, the bridge connected and the door opened and we got out. My friend who was back in Y said that there was a strong burning smell in the J cabin as they left, a crew member was covering her nose with her hand etc.

After a while in the gate lounge, they announced that our flight was "delayed" due to a technical problem. They let us out back into the domestic departure area and we eventually left for HKT around 11pm on a different plane but with the same cabin crew. No meal service this time.

I had the misfortune once to end up on TG CMB-BKK in J on an A300 departing 1:35am. I felt like we were crammed in like sardines, the food was lousy and I didn't manage to sleep. Another reason why I try to avoid TG but I have four flights with them in the next few months...

Just for the sake of being able to say I have tried it. BKK to HKT seems short enough... Anything more than 2 hrs without IFE and I'll go bonkers!
