Default Suspension of CBR, WLG, ARN and DUS

As per Airlineroute and Channelnewsasia, SQ will suspend services to Canberra, Wellington, Stockholm and Dusseldorf.

Staff layoffs and network cuts are always unfortunate news. Those are the 4 newest destinations in SQ's network, aren't they?

Yes. Seattle is a new destination too. But there is no news about it yet. Looks like SQ might keep that for now. Apparently SQ might keep PUS.

Hope they keep SEA. US west coast to India demand seems unlikely to go away. UA and AA launching direct BLR to SFO/SEA service. Post-pandemic, tech sector demand will probably still be there.

Oh yes I forgot about Seattle and Pusan, both of which are even newer destinations than those that were suspended.

It's going to be quite competitive with AA and UA flying to Bangalore next year. AA from SEA will be supported by Alaska, SQ's partner at SEA, while UA from SFO will offer a Star Alliance connection. Those airlines will offer one-stop connections from the US to BLR via their US hubs, while SQ can offer one-stop connections from India to Seattle via Singapore. Let's hope SQ will remain in Seattle for years to come.

I guess I knew cancelation of DUS was coming. Iím not as shocked as I might have been because return to normal seems to be getting further from view when you live on this continent...

Accordingly to Airlineroute, SQ has announced its intention to resume PUS from Feb next year. Interestingly, if I am not mistaken, this is the 1st route since the pandemic that SQ has announced that are to be flown by the A330s. Obviously Feb being some time away could mean things could still change, but still...

Here is the Airlineroute link / announcement:
